Simple tutorial but one I am asked about often. This is the best way to do it on most valve covers. Be sure to like and subscribe for more content like this!

Just an fyi, you could consider using a blind hole tap. They're designed for use in holes that dont go through the material, like the ones in the valve cover. They pull all the chips and shavings into themselves preventing any from falling into the hole. It would save you having to blast the tapped holes with compressed air.

Nice Honda valve cover. Wish I thought of this when my partner did a skyline valve cover. The gaskets were completely destroyed and only way to fix it was to remove the baffles but as new powder coaters we weren't sure how to go about it without further ruining it.

I am not really wanting to do a lot of automotive parts, I actually stumbled across an Eastwood kit for a price I couldn’t pass up… anyway I want to powder coat cast iron parts of old tools, small engine parts… is there anything special about cast iron coating that’s not already covered in the caliper videos?

Something new that I seen the other day is a guy makes a new micro vacuum for powder coating and it's pneumatic so it works off of your air line somehow and it cleans very tiny letters and spots!! I seen him advertise them on facebook

Is there any chance that the screws can go lose and fall into the engine?

I had a guy drill all the way through my valve cover in order to put bolts in. Is it ruined?
@UnknownCoatings Жыл бұрын
Drilled thru it? Like the hole is on the outside? What valve cover is it?
@tylersealey8092 Жыл бұрын
@@UnknownCoatings yeah he did that like a dummy, it’s a k24
@UnknownCoatings Жыл бұрын
You can absolutely weld the hole up, i mean in theory there is a bolt in it so it's not going to leak oil or anything
