How many times have you recorded audio for an eLearning course and immediately notice how many breaths the mic picks up. I ran into this all the time when I first started recording my own audio. It drove me nuts. I started silencing each breath but that was very tedious.
Luckily Adobe Audition simplifies this process and allows you to easily remove all breathe in your voice over and it only takes a few seconds to apply. In this latest video Jeff Batt will walk you through how to easily remove breathing from your audio files using Audition.

This is great, however, what do you do about the complete absence of sound that results, e.g. no room tone, which (oddly) sounds...odd? Do you just add that in as a secondary track, or is there another option?

Maybe reduce how much it takes out. You could play with those settings so it is not just complete silence. Or like you mention add some noise as a secondary track.

You may need to adjust your threshold then. Maybe your voice is naturally lower or maybe your breathing is same level as your talking so you may need to adjust to catch just the breathe.

Somehow, in this video, your face has a weird resemblance to a 3D animation. Did you use AI to enhance the video?

Haha - Never heard that one before. Nope that is my real face. I do shoot with a DSLR and this lens was pretty close to me and I did the normal color grading process in Final Cut to adjust the lighting but that was it.
