How to remove carpet and flooring from RV with a slide-out? FULL-TIME RV LIVING FAMILY OF 4. We're renovating our RV for full-time RV living and tackling flooring and tearing out the carpet and floor to make room for vinyl plank flooring. We would love any tips you have for us! I hope you love your light flooring- it hides things well 🤣 that helped us with our choice, especially with little kids!

If your subfloor is solid and doesnt need repairs, you can just lay the planks right over the linoleum and save a lot of time and work. If you go to bare subfloor, get some sealer on it. Spray paint the inside of your ducts black, where the vents are. Its much more esthetically pleasing than the silver look. I edited it to clarify laying planks right over the linoleum.

Literally trying to pull up carpet in a 36 ft, 3 slides fifth wheel now that i bought from an online auction. Took a break to find help and found your video. Thanks! So, I'm thinking just gut it all and start from scratch or set it ablaze and walk away???...is there an in- between??? Idk 😅🤦‍♀️

It’s definitely a labor of love. You’re working with 3 slide outs, I only had the 1 so I feel for you. The staples were definitely infuriating for us. Does your slide out come out flat or slightly raised?

I got a color called Mythical kind of a blue with a touch of green. I bought it over two weeks ago from Menards. Had to order it. Have not picked it up yet. In the process of painting my bedroom. Normally i do all my own work on everything but i'm going to hire the carpet out as i don't have all the tools for carpet to do a proper job.

Yeah it will be easier on my legs. It's not as easy kneeling down and getting back up again since my bypass surgeries on my legs. I could do it but it might make me sore for a few days.

Phenomenal job so far, guys. I’d definitely go for a dark floor for practical reasons. However, from an appearance perspective, light floors will probably make it look more spacious, so it’s up to you to make the final decision.

Great question. Our slide out doesn’t come out flush. There is a 2/3 inch overhang that was covered by carpet in the original model. We used a car Jack and some wood under the slide out beam to crank it up a couple of inches so I could removed the carpet that I couldn’t get to that was under that extra 2/3 inches. Does that make sense?

Not because of the carpet but we did once under an extremely forceful thunderstorm- but only once! We resealed all areas after that and have been living in it full time for months with no issues!

Oh no!!! They are Chris’ favorite! You must have picked the wrong place. I grew up on them because my dads entire side was from the UP and then Chris’ dad’s side of the family is from Cornwall England, where the Cornish pasty came from - the irony 🤣. Where did you go for the pasty? I’ll asked my dad if it was legit 😂❤️💕
