This is the first time I have seen your video and it's exactly the way I go about those transformers. Copper is easier to cut than steel and it's simple, just like ceiling fan windings. When I have a few to do, rather than use a hacksaw I use a cutting disc on a small grinder (5" ). You can do 15 , 20 in no time. Really good video.

Thanks, and yes a grinder is much faster.

brilliant, the time i've spent on these damn things is embarrassing, and you're absolutely right, trying to pull those plates out when they've been glued is maddening, i was just smashing them with a hammer to make things go quicker.

I ALWAYS scrap small transformers even though my friends think it’s a waste of time. Great quick and easy tip.

Metal's money. It all adds up.

I agree, it does take time but it does all add up plus I find it therapeutic like wire stripping. Great video, best wishes.

Great work! I like the silence in the workchop. Grinders are nice but messes up things.

Absolutely. All that copper dust gets in my eyes, takes a week to clear up. Lol

I use an old wood chisel (because it’s thin), chop through one leg, turn it around and do it again. It only takes Seconds!

@buddybelew76912 жыл бұрын
If you're talking armature s I can do a video on how I do it. They're kind of a hassle, but you can get the copper out.

Nice video good Sir. My hacksaw needs a blade very badly, so I just used a wood chisel instead. Worked fine. Took you just a minute to get the copper!!!😁

why take the plastic out, scrape yard will take it with the plastic. they won't give you more than light iron price either way. you left the plastic tape around the outside . you reduced the weight and wasted time.
@shaystern24532 жыл бұрын
that size transformer is a waste of time since there is less then 1 ounce of copper.
