Valentina good work! I have one question: it's nessesary to take of the drum wrap in order to repaint the snare/bass drum? It's not possible to paint directly in it? Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Greece :)

Hello Valentina, Mooie Vrouw. Thank you for the video. I really like the color of the stain you used. Can you tell me what color stain and the brand you used? I’m assuming that is a maple shell?

Hi, no clue honesty, I believe I either mentioned it in the video, but this was shot years back and I don't remember anymore. Was something like ebony or so.. but turned out not to look like ebony at all lmao. wood of this drum i think it's something cheap.. either pine or similar, was not an expensive drum at all

Can I use spray paint and they cover it with a spray-on gloss?

I want to 1. Sand off the existing coat so it is rough and light 2. Add protective tape and plasticto edges and inside 3. Paint pink spray paint 1 layer, 4. Add a cool silver glitter design, then finally, 5. Add a glossy layer using sparkly gloss clear spray paint. Will this work? Is this too much?

Stain colours the wood, that's all. It doesn't protect it in any way. That's why you need a clear coat on top of it. Super simple way is to use a wipe on water based poly. Apply it with a small piece of an old cotton t-shirt, applying a thin layer, let it dry then give it a very light scuff with 320 grit. Wipe off all the dust, apply a second thin coat and repeat. Put on 5 or 6 coats and after the last coat, sand it lightly with 320, then 400, 600, 800 and then 1000 grit. Polish it with some kind of polish compound after that until you get a nice glassy shine. It will look awesome and protect the shell for years.

I’m thinking of wrapping my churches drums with auto wrap. It’s much cheaper than drum wrap and just as durable.

I wear glasses and knew the answer to that question, even though I watched your video without them, and it’s pretty obvious, so ya.
