I can't get mine out. It's like it's stuck on the fuel neck.

Need to take that nut off of the bracket supporting the fuel neck. First you have to get access through the wheel well liner. I took off about 8 plastic nuts to do so without needing to remove the wheel.

Oh I just left a comment about this. Mine is leaking water into the trunk. Thank you. It must have been removed and refitted badly.

My F15 X5 is leaking water into the back corner pocket from the drain hole, below/ right next to the filler pipe. It destroyed the tailgate control module and the wiring connector that goes to the module. In the process, it also cooked the spindle drives that lift the gate (BMW wants more than $1000 for each of those, but we found an aftermarket supplier at $300/pair). I haven't opened into the gas door assembly yet, but isn't there a drain tube from that drain hole? All I can say is that the same idiot who designed the panoramic roof must have been put in charge of this set up. Not only did they place the expensive control module down low in that bilge pocket, which has no drain (another brilliant plan from an engineer who apparently didn't attend a top school), they didn't waterproof the carrier it slides into and then they put this asinine design in play so that if the sunroof drains get clogged, or this gas door drain sees any water, it fills that back pocket 6 inches deep and cooks the electronics. A few trips through the carwash and you're screwed. But, just using a garden hose on the outside of the car, we found the leak because it was POURING into the corner pocket. Used a syringe to squirt water into that drain hole and it all came flooding into the inside.

Agreed, you have to drop the wheel fender well and pull the seal in place by those four tabs found on the rubber gasket from the wheel well area

It would make job much easier if you remove wheel liner completely, but you could also try to remove couple clips and gain access to that 10mm
