This really is a perfect HOW TO video, gets right into it and goes over every possible obstacle. We got water in our basement that is now sitting beneath our floating wood laminate floor and we need to take it up, I thought maybe I could figure it out and this video has assured me I can! THANK YOU!

I don’t know if you still see these comments since this video was seven years ago, but I literally just had a bamboo floating floor put in. Cost of materials with labor wasn’t cheap. They didn’t even bother to level the floor. So there are spots where it’s literally like a trampoline. I am going to have help reinstalling it, but because of your video I’m saving myself $2200 by removing and labeling the flooring myself. I’m also ordering your handy tool which you provided a link for in one of the comments. I am now a subscriber and I think you so very much. You truly are like the Bob Ross of home improvements. Love your voice!!

This will help me save the material I bought that must be removed when an "experienced installer" mislaid my tongue and groove engineered floor that is not Click as he assumed making multiple errors along the way. Obviously you have been installing and removing flooring for a long time. Can you give an update regarding any issues with mold or water pooling up under poly vapor barriers?

Nice video Shannon - thanks for taking the time and sharing. I have to do this exercise as the guys who recently fitted my laminate made a dogs dinner of it - I as going to remove it all and replace the boards that they damaged (it appears that they used hammers and brute force to click the boards together). I was thinking of numbering the rows and boards, such as row 1, board A, B, C etc. So code would be A1, B1, etc. Thanks again...

My Girlfriend and I just bought a house in Scotland and discovered the upstairs has beautiful hardwood floors underneath from the 70's so still good solid wood. Thanks to your video I was able to get the laminate flooring up fairly easy though they used a ton of glue which I had to cut with a stanley knife.

Bought our first house, we're gonna be doing this this weekend. Thanks for posting this video! Update! We pulled it all up but we didn't have the transition track like in this video. We actually had transitions that were glued/epoxied to the concrete. After pulling up the lining, we noticed chunks of concrete missing...countersunk holes the size of silver dollars all along the outer edges of the wall. Is this from a previous carpet installation? Will the concrete have to be resurfaced before a new carpet installation takes place?

My Wife and I just bought our first house. We plan on replacing all the flooring in the entire house, wood laminate and carpet. We are going to do the flooring demo ourselves to save some money, is it a necessity to remove all the floor trim/baseboard, or can we get by leaving it in? I know we'll have to remove the quarter rounds, but I'm more worried about having to remove the baseboard trim since we're doing the entire house. Thanks so much, I have learned so much from all your videos! *(We are having a professional do the install)
