Don't, big mistake. It limits the space above your cooktop and hinders you frequently when cooking. But this is a great video explaining the process.

Man, your video instruction is the best. I moved to West Africa from Chicago. I decided to build my house and wanted to install a pocket door on the master bathroom. So I watched a dozen of videos but yours is simple, clear, and the best. Now I can educate the carpenters here to produce and install my pocket door. Most carpenters here have no idea about making and installing Pocket Doors. Is it ok to use 2x4 metal studs that the door slides between and then add a 2x4 wood inside the studs to make them stronger and provide more meat to screw the drywalls on to? Those tiny metal studs that came with the track look flimsy to me. What do you advise? I have followed your channel since 2019. How to hang a door and How to frame a wall were the first 2 videos I watched on your channel and they are still among the best videos for learning and DIY projects. Thanks for doing these excellent videos.

Great video, thanks I’ve watched it a few times. I found the concrete drill bits worked for the type of stone tile we have. My problem is only three of the six holes took Tapcon screws and they are all located towards the back of the flange. There isn’t enough concrete or mortar in the anterior screw hole spaces. My thoughts are to find longer screws 3.5” as the 1/4” X 1 3/4” Tapcon didn’t hold. It’s also possible the stone tiles are too porous to hold the screws.

I would try longer Tapcons like you figured.

You bought the land and the cabin but the cabin isn’t on your land? That seems odd to me. Don’t you buy land and all improvements on that land? In other words, it seems reasonable to me that you didn’t even buy and don’t own the cabin! I hope it goes well for you - I will be tuned in for updates!

Thanks. This was great info. I now feel I can take mine out without huge problems. I like that your video was short, to the point and full of good instructions. I am so happy I didn't have to listen to "how a microwave works" in order to take one out like so many other videos that just go on and on before getting to the actual deed.

Do not "shim" the tub. Self leveling concrete and foam are the best practice. I can't tell you how many of these tubs I've had to repair bottoms on because they're "shimmed" in.

Shannon, you have a horseshoe built in, been trying to find here in Canada a place like that. Are the search methods the same? I live to serve God and build and rebuild new things plating a self-sustaining garden, razing Quail, and making custom furniture for clients the place I'm at is small for all the things still in mind. Any search ideas would be great. love when I'm stumped going to your site and gain knowledge. never give up.

We have been looking for 3 yrs and just kinda got lucky, I dont think most people could see past all the overgrown yard ,cobwebs and things scattered around. I know that is all work but it costs very little to clean up. If the seller would have spent even 1 week with 2-3 helpers cleaning up he would have made another 100K I'm sure.

What is the difference between angle and pitch and when to use it. I want to build a 2/12 gable awning. Thanks!
@HouseImprovements
@HouseImprovements 2 күн бұрын
Really they are the same just expressed in different numerical ways. I would explain it as ....Angle is the axis of the roof off of level and pitch is the distance of rise off of level for every foot of horizontal travel. For example 2/12 pitch is an angle of around 9.5 degrees
