You don’t really have to have the exact screwdriver, just something that fits well. The main challenge is loosening the screws. The easiest way is to use a hairdryer with the narrow aim nozzle, or a heat gun. I used a hairdryer on a Speedmaster bracelet before and the screws came out easily. Just blow on the screws surface for 10 seconds or so and immediately get a screwdriver and start to loosen the screws. At first the screws will feel firm and tough, but with gentle pressure slowly turn and they will come out. And be careful not to lose or drop the screws, they can be hard and a pain to find if lost. Omega probably uses a special cement for the screws to their bracelets like loctite. It was a fun thing to do, not too easy or hard, but does take some time and patience to get the right size for your wrist.

I use the tape method. I put some on the bolt's head, then I use your average 1.6mm screw and a cheapo holder. Tension is killed by the tape and at the same time you have 101% grip due to the glue substance of the tape, the bolt gives super easy without going overboard. I used this method to resize my Rolex Sub, the screwdriver I use is a Bergeon 1.6mm (or any 1.6 screwdriver really).

The most helpful part of this video for me was to actually use the stabilizer that Rolex sent to hold the watch still. I have always just held it in my hand but using the stabilizer made things much easier.

All this might seems excessive or nitpicky, but if you are working on watches, DO NOT USE GLASSES SCREWDRIVERS! Or others laying around the house. All of this is absolutely crucial. Use GOOD QUALITY screwdrivers to remove them easily and make the screws last a while. These will be expensive. You will look at it and think “there is no way that is worth it” And you will have a horrible experience because you used the wrong one. Literally cannot stress this enough. GREAT video.

Thanks Bro, this was useful. I work on watches all the time and getting screws off older watches can be a bit of a chore. Have you come up a with a solution for removing the permanent links off? The ones where the screw heads are polished flush with the bracelet link and no slot can be seen any more. They sometimes also laser weld the head and then polish it ... one can see the faint outline of the round screw head on the bracelet. I was thinking the only way to get these type of screws off is so laser weld the screw head to create something to grip on to. Any ideas from you will be good to hear too. Thanks.
