This was helpful to me for wanting to fully remove the cowl. This way I could detail it and bring it back to life with making it dark black again rather then being faded. This way I don’t have to worry about getting products all over the window and other accessories. I can prep just the cowl easier with it removed

Much appreciated. I too must remove the cowl and clean out the area. Your vid was very helpful. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your experience with easy to understand explanations on the removal.

Awesome video buddy. Just did my 17 CM after rats ate my harness under the intake manifold. They also got into my engine and cabin filter. I also plugged the firewall vents with the same mesh and #8 3/4 self taping screws. I discovered today there is no need for a puller to remove the wiper arms. Simply loosen the nuts, make a mark for a reference to know the correct position when you reinstall. Close the hood and place the wiper arms in the out position, like you do when you clean the window, and they will easily be removed. The shaft they are attached to is tapered and moving the arms out releases lateral tension on the spline. Also, HONDA sells a rodent resistant tape. I placed that on the wire harness as well. The tape is expensive and Ebay is the cheaper option to purchase it.

Thanks. Great video. I will try to access it due to my washer fluid leaking behind the cowl. Rats pro chewed line. And will do what you did except use 1/4 steel mesh and try aluminum tape and see how that works out.

I used a continuous bead of Gorilla Glue and 1/4 steel mesh after a mouse nest was found in my headliner and airbags in the roof. They can also get in through the AC drain under the transmission and behind the cab through the pressure vents . The latter are very difficult to access and I have not sealed these. If there is another solution anyone has, please comment.

Here because of mice. A rubber mallet works for removing wiper arms too. Just give the bold a few good taps.

Did you have any more mice entering the cab? Mice can go through 1/4 in. wire mesh. I would have used screen material but I don’t know if it would restrict airflow after it gets dirty. Cottonwood seeds could foul a screen. The perfect size would be a 1/8 in. mesh screen.

Probably flooded the vabin folter area. Hopefully the fan motor was ok i put gopher screen with HVAC metal tape around the air intake on my cars. Can't do much about around the engine. Mice chewed my wires under the intake three times that immobiliserd my Tundra

"I don't know why they didn't put a screen there..." I've been asking myself that for 15 years now... :) I just got a 19 Tundra (had an 08) and the mice get in the same way every time. They somehow got into my middle console and ate a bunch of advil and imodium. lol! pain free constipated mice... probably got a buzz from the imodium.
