How to Repair a Cut/Chewed Laptop Charger

My mother really needed to use her laptop, but after the bunny gnawed through the charger, she was shit out of luck until the new one arrived. This is my quick fix while we wait for the new charger to arrive.

I can’t believe I found this. My bunny had recently bit my charger to the point where a wire was exposed, and I got shocked.

This is why I put chilly peppers in my wires. My annoying Dog keeps chewing on wires, and it's driving me nuts.

Dudeee I didn't think I was going to be able to fix it but I did! I had another old computer cable laying around and I removed the wire from that and transferred it over to the faulty one and it workedddd. You saved me $50!

hi sir please i have a question my laptop charger part of its cable get really hot so the laptop keep disconecting if i cut the damaged part and solder it will be fixed and if it yes the output power of the charger will not change.thank you

Every time my cord breaks the laptop dies so I placed two toothpicks and taped it lol it worked

thats risky. The toothpicks could catch on fire unless you use a plastic.

How would you go about fixing a wire that connects to the tip (thing that you insert into the laptop)? My cats managed to tear through and severed a wire that connects to the tip, and I was wondering if there was a way to fix it.

All i could find to fix my extremely exposed and chewed or ripped wires was get some tape and put it to a position where the wires connect after straightening them in the plastic and taping it in that position and it works for now

As long as nothing is shorting out then you are good. I would recommend wrapping the bitten areas with some electrical tape just to avoid having exposed wires.

i watched this whole thing then i realized the break is like where the thing plugs into the laptop so i dont have 2 sides of wires😞 so sad i rlly need my laptop😭

wire are of different types so can I use any wire like copper .....to cover up the teared up wire ? hope u help me ....I got this problem

That's not the solution, and that's cruel to your bunnies. Please find them owners that are willing to bunny-proof and let them free-roam. Bunnies need exercise and play-time, should have plenty of time out every day. My bunny nipped several important wires throughout her life, too, and you know whose fault that was? Mine for not proofing the area before letting her roam.

Damn dog chewed on my wire, this is why I told them to be more strict and tell him off properly and harshly every time he bites on anything other than his toys, including clothes, shoes, paper or whatever he can get his dirty paws on, but no, clearly that's too hard, and just me doing something about it isn't enough, if I punish him and the rest pretty much reward him for bad behavior, how can I ever teach him what he can and cannot do? Actually didn't notice it before the cable twisted a bit and the connection cut, now I see sparks while bending it slightly but it still works so I just ordered a new one, I'll just put some electrical tape on the old one and it should be good for a day or two until the charger arrives. I hate it when people can't teach their dogs easy things like not chewing on stuff. No, it's so funny when they chew on clothes and whatever they can find, until it costs money and it's not f*cking funny anymore. It's not difficult, as long as you swiftly punish them each time it happens, they will quickly realize that it's not worth it to bite on stuff. Bought a relatively cheap third party charger but hell if I am paying for it, was kind enough to not get the original and demand they pay for it as that's 2-3 times as expensive. The ones who own the dog are going to be paying for it, first thing I'm saying next time I see them and I won't accept a no. Might teach them a slight lesson if they have to pay for something the dog broke. They're lucky this was a charger for a cheap laptop, if the dog bit through the charger for my expensive one it wouldn't end with just me getting compensated. Should be able to leave my stuff for a while without being worried about it being damaged because of a retarded dog that they can't properly train.
