this is always a hard one, if you can , make a 2mm thick aluminium splitter under the bumper , we’ll help protect the front and help with aerodynamics, and not add to much weight

so carbon fibre is normally layered in a pre shaped mould and then wrapped in a air tight “bag” and vacuumed sealed and the resin is then sucked into the bag while it’s still under vacuum. so repairing CF is a pain to make it look good, you can repair it the same way with fibreglass, sand the area smooth and clean and paint or wrap that area. Or once repaired, sand area lay a new sheet of carbon fibre over the repair, slap resin on both side, make sure it’s soaked it resin, once the resin is tacky, put on more resin.. let it dry same smooth is starting with 320grit sand paper and then either clear coat it, or sand to a finish with 1500 and 2000 and hand polish

GREASE GARAGE thanks mate. I think I can do the second option mentioned. Not quite sure what you mean by vacuum sealing it. Visually I see resin sticking to the vacuum bag, however I think I’m visualise it incorrectly.

They do abit, but it’s a better way of doing it has the resin gets into every single gap, but the way your doing it on a repair is prefectly fine

i actually always use tape, but yeah would , foam or cardboard is all find to use, once you glass over it, it will be strong, let us know how you go
