How to Repair And Replace Inflatable Boat Valves

This video will show you how to effectively check for possible air leaks using a bottle of soapy water, quick repair by tightening the valve with the valve tool that comes in the repair kit, and finally full replacement by disassembling the valve, applying marine silicone around the threads, and reassembling the valve.

I have lost the back of the valve three times and it was an absolute horror,but i managed to get them all three back in place! I wished i saw this video earlier..

Could you describe the marine silicone you mention? A search doesn’t come up with anything that ISNT a sealant

No one ever mentions how to install the whole valve, inside and outside pieces.

Unfortunately changing the inside piece means cutting into boat to remove the backing. It’s not something that we would encourage anyone to do. It’s always a good idea to buy a bunch of spare valves for the exact model you own, as manufacturers sometimes discontinue products.

It’s a $5 marine silicone from home hardware. Any waterproof silicone will work. Do not use an adhesive silicone.
