How to Repair Stripped Aluminum Threads

3 жыл бұрынFixing stripped threads in aluminum or steel is a simple job if you use a helical thread insert - whether the name brand Helicoil or another one. In this video I'll show you how to drill, tap and install the repair insert.

Use Red Loctite on the Coil. Keeps it from unscrewing out.

So, how long are these taps? My 6x14mm aluminum hole stripped out.

The 6mm is about 2.25" of reach pas the tap holder

Without having them at hand, I guess you could count the ridges. Should at least get you very close.

Where does the tab go once broken off?

This hole goes all the way through, so it fell on the driveway
