Thank you for this very helpful video. You are right about getting the string through the handle. I also had trouble getting the string through the hole onto the flywheel. All sorted now thanks to you. Best wishes, Gary.

Hi there great video. Could you please help me at 5:01 i lost all the string so unsure how many revolutions needed to then slide the new pullcord spool back in (looks about three?) also when I try to wind the spring back so I can then put the pullcord in and tie a knot. It winds back a little then seems to lose tension and the spring goes round? It seems to be slipping on something? Do i need to undo the middle bit where it has the hex bolt with the flat end screwdriver slot?

Not a good design at all. Replacing a cord should be a much simpler operation

Ikr!!! They could have just used screws instead of those stupid rivets

@@JoeTricep lol that's what pissed me off, other brands have it exactly like that.

@@dsavish eventually i just to grind all the rivet heads off and screw on a new pull start

@@JoeTricep did U actually grind the rivets off and do it that way?
@JoeTricep2 жыл бұрын
@@craigrosa7722 yeah i took a small grinder and grinded the rivet heads off being really careful not to damage the blower housing. the pull start piece ended up getting destroyed but thats ok since that was what was being replaced. it came right off after that and then i used some bolts to secure on the new pull start piece in the rivet holes, there were also another set of holes too to screw in. I used to be a fan of briggs and stratton but i cant really trust them anymore after such a poor design like that

What a joke, replacing the pull string should be much easier, buying a new mower and it ain't gonna be Briggs
