Thanks for posting this video. I need to replace the diverter in a somewhat different Moen faucet, yet this video shows me the basics and makes it look easy.

Awesome video, thank you! And the comment at 16:00 about having "no play in the pivot piece" saved me. About 1.5 hours for this 63-year old woman (going slow and cleaning up crud as I went along) to complete. Like a new faucet!

TIP: Same diverter kit but different faucet. Unscrewed the diverter but couldn't pull the old one out with needle nose etc. Went underneath released the quick disconnect from sprayer. Slide a thin screwdriver up from the bottom to push the diverter up & out.

If you don't have the bolt for the diverter, you can use a ½ Allen wrench too

What causes the thump thump and causes the sister to slightly leak? Diverted? When I removed the diverted entirely there was no thump, but both faucet and sprayer ran at same time.

@jeffenglishsetter8339: I think that the thump noise you are describing is the diverter moving from one position to another position to effect the change in water output from the spout to the sprayer and vice versa. If the spout is slightly leaking water when you are using the sprayer then the diverter is not working properly and should be replaced.

Possibly the plastic diverter assembly is not fully screwed down in, this will cause multiple thumping noises.

okay. What do you do if the handle (about 9:00 min) won't come off after you get the set screw out?

Once that screw is out the handle should come off easily. Try it in the off (down) position to start and lift up and back as if you are turning the faucet on. It should release.

What size Allen key

I didn’t note it because the Allen key came with the replacement parts. I’d have to find it now and check. But it should be compatible with a size from a standard set.
