Good video - my mechanic explained today how hard it was getting this out and now I can see. We have a problem with a loud clicking tensioner and hopefully that'll be replaced tomorrow.

It was replaced, both the tensioner and the pully and still there is a click. I now have no idea what the clicking is (on acceleration both stationary and moving - seems to ease off when 3rd gear is reached...)

There is no shame in that, save some money on other jobs and compensate with the jobs you cant do.

good job! Often either the regulator attached to the alternator is defect or the brushes inside the regulator. Both can be replaced at much smaller cost as the entire alternator.

Sure, that was my first plan. But the bearings were also not that great. And I could not get loose parts on a short notice.

1.8L comes with 120A.. when replaced its a 150A alternator.. a new software needs to be uploaded/ordered at the volvo dealer.

This is 1,6 diesel right? On my 2.0 D on top of the alternator I have the fuel filter... So I think it's even more difficult... 😅
