@@pretty95138 hi. I purchased online an Exide EK131 stop start battery. It was 95 euro. I am in Ireland. If you purchase this battery don't be worried if there is nowhere for the red plasticpipe to go in, its not required. The red pipe goes into a slot on the Mercedes battery.

Let's talk cars hi there. It’s been about 3 months we communicate the last time. Hopefully you are doing good. Just to remind you I have exact same car like yourself - Mercedes cla250 year 2014. I changed oil and main battery about 3 months ago. And today I got a new problem - Auxiliary Battery Malfunctions, just like on your video. I click OK, it disappeared and I just drove . But in a few miles I stopped at the traffic light and engine stopped, but it didn’t start, like it normally should when I press accelerator pedal. So I had to turn the key to start the engine. It happened twice during this trip. Apparently I have to change the auxiliary battery. Would you provide a link where to purchase the appropriate battery without getting into trouble? And what parameters should I look for except size of the battery? Thank you

So i bought this battery it seems a little bigger then the original thou. I can’t get the screws to screw in it just keeps turning and turning. How can i fix that? Also does the red cord not need to plug in? There is no spot on the new battery for the red cord

i think the red small pipe is for venting the fumes from the battery during charging and discharging

Check the connection to the battery (to auxiliary and to main battery as well)

@@beatleslover342 Yes, this is the same battery. Some times It might be a problem with a wire that goes from an auxiliary to a main battery

Yeah that vent pipe vents heat from the battery which builds due to the battery being enclosed inside, not sure i want to take the chance of having a battery swelling up and explode inside the car. I'll spend the extra and buy the OEM battery, but thanks for this video though!!

@@KevinVinny713 Very true! Auto start/stop isn’t great on this car. It actually killed my alternator lol Not sure what else that battery is for. I replaced it anyway for $50 so might as well not have any messages

@@UB-here The link you had was for a battery that was about 20% smaller. There's also a terrible time getting the MB cable to screw into those battery terminals. It's a nightmare using the slotted nuts that come with the battery. But, after a murderous time with those two covers, it's worth it to save the cash. No more "auxiliary battery malfunction" warning! This lady is happpeee!!

Not really... The replacement battery you bought must have not properly resembled the original. The one I got actually came with threaded connectors on the top. So the reality is that it all simply depends on what type of replacement battery you bought. So just because yours requires a new fastening kit doesnt mean that the maker of this video "missed a step" You just happened to require an additional one.
