Before putting a new battery into regular use, it's important to charge it fully to 100%. This ensures that all the cells within the battery are equally charged and recognize their maximum capacity. Following this, a complete discharge helps to calibrate the battery's understanding of its minimum capacity. Think of it as a way to "teach" the battery its operational range-from full charge to complete discharge. Performing this charge-discharge cycle when you first use the battery, and then once every three months, can significantly maintain the battery's health and ensure peak performance over time. It's a simple step that can extend the lifespan of your battery and enhance your laptop's reliability. Regarding your question, there is no dedicated CMOS battery on this models my friend, the CMOS it takes it's charge from main internal battery, if you have a bad bios, then you will need to de-solder it and reprogram it with a programmer. you can replace the battery, but that will not erase the BIOS password.

Regarding your question, yes it should come on after 5-10sec of plugging the charger, but over the years i have come across many laptops that because of some reason the light stopped turning on randomly but the battery was charging. so once you replaced the old battery power on once and once you in the desktop and see the battery charging, then power off and leave it charging for 5h initial charge.
