DO NOT bend the bracket out of the way. It will snap off and break the plastic housing where it is attached. There is 1 Phillips screw holding the bracket to the plastic housing. If the wiring is in the way of the Phillips screw, simply take a wire snips and cut the zip tie holding the wiring to the bracket which will allow easy access to the screw.

Thanks Guys - I just followed your advice and was able to remove my fan and found a dead mouse in it, so cleaned it up and put it back, all in 2 hours. I found it very tricky to work in that position (being 65 years young and a little obese) when moving the 2 circuits out of the way mine made a cracking noise, so didn't move it maybe as far as you did, and it took me 4 tries to get the fan back in place - then I was left holding the fan, in my left hand and the ratchet being set to undo plus no screw in sight! After that it was real easy to put everything back in place. One tip vacuum the small stones from the floor of the prius before you start, as they hurt like h*** when your elbow rests on them!

You don't have to bend the metal clip. Toyota wouldn't put it there if it can't be removed. You just pop the plastic wire connectors off of the metal by pulling them towards the back of the car. Then once they're off you can move the wires to get at the single Phillips head screw on the back side of the metal clip. Once it's off, you can easily access the blower fan screws and also pull the fan down

Used this for my 2015 Toyota Corolla. Thank you! I've been looking everywhere and didn't realize that the resistor is IN the blower motor.

Toyota likes to have it's parts in ssembly form and integrated as much as possible hence they call they the blower motor assembly and all suspension parts have closed non serviceable bearings.

Definitely going to do this right away after ordering the part from them. I owe so much to their generous time to make these videos! Without them, it'd be a mechanic who would charge far too much.

A decent video, but notice they stopped the video when removing the screw behind the bracket... I'm pretty sure they weren't able to use a socket to get that one out... I ended up using a #25 torx screwdriver to get that screw out. Took me about an hour to change including the drive to and from getting the screwdriver from the auto parts store. As for the "trim removal tool" I used a butter knife. Toyota wanted to charge me $383 to do this. I paid $34.57 on Amazon for the motor and like $8ish for the screwdriver

First off, thanks for saving ppl like myself from the clutches of being sol&jwf. On to my critique/complaint though: I can not read the required tools list at the start of your video, no matter if I turn the brightness all the way up or go full screen, and you don't mention the required parts until they're useful, so could you include that section in your video description, or start verbally including it at the start? Thanks! Take care.

I have a 2010 Corolla. It also has a bracket with electrical plugs (as shown) blocking the way from dropping the fan out. I tried the bend technique as shown but the bracket is further to the left and that would not work to clear it. BUT....it got me in a different zone of thinking. I easily rotated the bracket to the right and that gave me the clearance. Thank you soooo much for this video because I was trying to unscrew and drop the bracket out. Fantastically difficult. Not a good idea. Really stupid engineering as far as the build. Side note....I was replacing it because it was making a lot of rumbling noises. I thought it was a bearing going out. I had this problem on my last Corolla. I noticed that when I looked in my glove box there was a bunch of torn up pieces of a Subway napkin in there. When I dropped the fan there was a large piece of said napkin inside. I saw no dead bodies but I can only guess that there was a damn mouse in there. How he drug that in there I'll never know. I'm thinking I probably didn't need to get a new one. Meh....I'll save it for now. Thanks again!!

So maybe I'm weak because I'm a woman or whatever, but you really did a crap job just telling folks to bend some metal out of the way like that. It wouldn't budge in my 35 degree garage. My hands hurt like f@@@ now. But I found the screw to take out and move that little arm out of the way. I should make a video about how to do this if you're not a dude.
@mannybuttar5964

I just did this, that moving the bracket part to get the 3rd scew took prolly 85% of the time, you are not weak, that was so hard to do, I couldn't open the other screw you mentioned it wasnt budgeting and even more awkward I finally moved the bracket far enough to fix it, overall would not do this again if I had to lol

*WARNING!! DO NOT BEND THAT METAL BRACKET BACK "GENTLY"* This bracket is connected to the fan housing that is 11 year old plastic. If it breaks you will damage the housing and have a hole were air will leak. If any video is telling to "bend" things "gently" instead of taking it off proper I would stay away.
