OK.....NOW, what is the plastic cover over the cabin filter called......I'm trying to locate a new one and I don't know what is called.

At 1:03 the car's cowling is being removed. At 1:40 the Water shield is being removed. Thank you for watching!

Why did mercury make this more unnecessary than it has to be? Put your cabin air filters in the glove box like every other make does

It would be best to goto your dealer and have them take a look at it to make sure nothing gets damaged.

would that filter cause a car to run hot or over heat if blocked

A dirty filter that is impacted with debris will cause for less air flow and a poor quality of air to come through your vents.
