Fitted both drive shafts. Got them off ebay from J and R £25 each. Fitted just like the video. Getting the ball joint back in was a bit tricky, more about getting the alignment rather than having to use brute force. (pin goes back in on an angle.) Advisable to drain the gearbox first. Took about a litre to refill, but that was due to draining it as the old shaft came out. Was unsure about doing it as a DIY, but the job was not too hard. This video was a great help.

just took my saxo to the garage, found out i need a new drive shaft (L) side, quote for about £100-140. just seen this video, might give it a go with a friend. Great video..thanks!

Great guide. Did the new drive shaft have the bearing on it (intermediate bearing?) Is it not a tight fit in the gearbox? This is going to be my job for Saturday. Anything I need to know before hand? Its for the vtr. Many thanks

Hi mate, thanks for the vid - I used it as a guide as I have just done exactly the same thing - same car & side. The only problem I have now is a humming / vibration noise at around 40mph. Any ideas what it might be? It seems to be worse under acceleration. Seems not to do it when in neutral. Did you torque the hub nut or just do it really tight? Did you get your drive shaft off eBay by any chance? I did for £25 and it also has the ABS ring like yours even though it's not required. Thanks, Graham

The video is good, but the title is misleading. You didn't show how to replace the CV boot. You replaced the whole driveshaft. Change the title please.
