Thank you very much for this - it was tricky, and took some time, but thanks to your video, I succeeded in replacing the belt, and I'm a 61-year-Old woman! My dryer is all working fine now!

At 6.38 there is a screw in the fan cover which is conveniently skipped, up until that point it's not impossible but once it comes to wrapping the belt around the fan pivot you'd need to take out the drum to release the screw to the fan cover... Bit misleading
@appliancesrepais

Hi Ricki To remove that screw you do have to remove the drum yes . Other way like I have done this screw is snapped doesn’t really need to be back on. I hope this will help you. Thanks

This screw is completely unnecessary because there are at at least five clips holding the fan cover in place. When I got this far, it was impossible for me to get any of my Torx screwdrivers to turn the screw because of the drum being in the way, but if you have a set of Torx bits and the drill/screwdriver adaptor then you might get lucky and find that the screw is only finger tight as I did. Otherwise it would have meant taking the drum out. Bad design by Bosch :-(

Very helpful. I found I had to use a torx bit on a ratchet to get the screw out of the fan cover as there's not enough room to get a screwdriver in the gap.

Good job I’m a appliance engineer myself they’re one of the most difficult belts to fit.You remembered to take off fan cover just make life a little bit easier.👍

Hi guys. I am literally at the point of taking a cover off the fan but cannot get it off at all apart from the front piece. In this video you’ve cut when you were having a problem doing the same and then went back on when you had released it. Can you tell me how to get it off please?

@@simonkaye6974 hi Tó take the fun cover off you will need a screwdriver 🪛 flat and forced it to open

@@appliancesrepais I tried that but the back bit started cracking. One side of the back bit has a release lever underneath but the other side seams fixed

Looks a bit of an arm wrestle ! But thanks for this I’ll give it a go in the next day or two. I’ve already taken the fan cover off. Had the wife to help with the back three clips as my hand was too big. Then the front four clips next and it came of all right. Bit of a squeeze.

Far easier to do this job from the rear and remove the drum. It takes more time, and you have more stuff to remove, but that way you don't have to force things and break the clips on the fan cover.

wte 86300us/8 I have this United States model very similar. However it was not as easy. The drum doesn't separate as far as your model. I had to thread the belt into the bottom of the drum guide and rock back and forth slowly allowing the belt to exit the drum guide. This flips over the belt so twisting and aligning is needed. My model has 8 splines on the belt and a cantilevered dual belt so I don't have to take off the fan.

Hi Lawrence Yes some models are a bit diferente then the others but if you manage to do yours that’s the achievement. Thanks 🙏

Some bits have been jumped. Removing the fan cover is impossible either remove the drum or break the clips and single screw holding fan cover in place. This is a poor design and I feel designed to be difficult for the diy or allow there engineers to charge more. Level of dismantling is madness

I completely agree John

It's a lot easier to do this job going in through the back and removing the drum. It takes longer and there are more things to remove, but far far less chance of breaking things.
