Thank you for this video. Bought my son a 2001 Tahoe which had dashboard light problem. Tried multiple fixes and this was the one that did the trick. Now he is night time road worthy.

Me too just discovered the problem. Dashboard would turn off when I switched gear to reverse. Before that the inside dimmer lights would drain the battery because they wouldn’t turn off. Inspected it and found it was stuck. Going to replace it because the knob is gummy and damaged.

This helps, thank you. Excellent, step by step instruction. I am having a dimmer switch issue on my 1997 Olds Cutlass Supreme SL. Switch assembly is somewhat different of course, but the idea is similar. To date I have not been able to find am aftermarket or used replacement. Original GM part # (10276645 discontinued) Frustrating to say the least.

Does this also sometimes fix the brake light problem? My left brake light goes out when I turn on the lights. Hopefully, there is an answer to this. I checked all grounds and fuses.

Great video thank you. The old switch would cause the gauge lights to go out at night on my 05 Silverado but I was able to replace this and the gauge cluster (tach and speedo stopped working) in about 15 mins. Thanks!

I'm 76y/o. So maybe that explains it. But that music is soooo distracting. Even when I was young I felt the need to focus on the task at hand. The music is like a test to see if you can learn something under adverse conditions. But thanks for the video. It will help me with the switch.
