This video shows you how to install a downstream O2 sensor on your 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla. The Oxygen (O2) sensors help monitor the emissions system in your vehicle. They measure the amount of oxygen passing through the exhaust, which informs the computer about proper fuel/air mixture, and the condition of the catalytic converter. Over time, the sensors may fail due to contamination, or reaching the end of their service life. TRQ offers new O2 sensors made to manufacturer’s specifications.

Exactly what I wanted to see, mainly how to unplug inside. You should have sprayed the penetrant first, maybe even several days prior to removal. My sensor is on its way from Amazon due tomorrow. Even though it's February in the midwest next Wednesday it will be over 50F+ so planning on doing it then. Doing some research today. Have sprayed homemade penetrant few weeks ago and plan on spraying two more times before removal, also will remove O2S after driving the car for a few hours doing my shift as a delivery driver. Did upstream O2S 1/1 one month ago and it has made a major difference, after clearing codes O2S 1/2 code came in revealing that both sensors were bad, initially I believed it was only O2S 1/1. I apologize for rambling on like a nutcase here, mainly want to say thank you for the information. I really like to see things first before I do them it helps with my anxiety issue.

Great video. Very helpful, thank you. I did purchase an O2 sensor socket for $12 on Amazon and it just rounded off the edges of the sensor. The problem is that the O2 sockets are for 7/8 and 22mm. But, 7/8 is 22.2 mm, which is too big for a seized sensor. So to address the problem, I used an angle grinder to cut most of the sensor off, leaving the socket-surfaces in place, then used a hammer to tap a nice quality 6-point socket over the sensor and it came off easily with the aid of a breaker bar. In retrospect, I think a good quality 22mm open-end wrench, as used by the author of the video, is preferable to the sensor socket.

2008 Mitsu Lancer 2L Made in Japan. I want to save time/labor and "not disconnect" the wires from the sensors. The Lancer wires also goes through the floor inside the car, freekin waste of time. Your video demonstrates that I don't have to disconnect the wires when removing the o2 sensors. I just want to keep the old sensors (they're good) and replace the rusty "cat convertor". There's a patch and rusty hole just behind the end pipe of the cat convertor. The new cat convertor comes with a 17-inch pipe behind it,... perfect, problem fixed. Thank you very much!

That car has 2 o2 sensors.. one in engine area also.. when u change one.. should u jus change both?

Funny thing is everyone show how to replace but no one bothers mentione the manufacturer code so i can actually buy the right sensor

This really is a great video. This would be an easy thing to do. I have no mechanic experience at all but after fixing a few things from your videos I could do this. But I can't get underneath the car like that unless I had a hydraulic lift. I'm In California. Are there places that rent a space to do something like this?
