Excellent video. Took me 15 minutes to change mine out. Saved a $150 diagnostics fee "even though I told them it was a bad switch", and who knows how much in labor cost.

Followed the video and it was pretty straight forward. Took me a little longer than others (did not want to break any plastic tabs!!) I was having trouble taking off the last connector so I left it connected and worked around it. Then I was having trouble getting all the tabs to stay undone so I used a thin outlet cover as a spacer and then worked my way around. As soon as I got the old unit out putting everything back together took less than 2 minutes. Thank yall for this video! Yall take it easy!

This video is really good. Simple instructions that are easy to follow. I was able to disassemble the switch assembly and clean my contacts, reassemble the switch, and put everything back together in about 30 minutes. It worked. If my fix doesn't remain fixed, I'll be sure to order the assembly from you. (Dealer told me a new switch assembly needs to be programmed. But my truck has no programming to the switch. Hmmmm...) Y'all are THE BEST!!!

You only need programming if you replace the whole unit and assuming your unit has the power mirrors.

Thank you for a great repair . . .I have an '03 with mirrors that extend. . . .if I unplug the module and clean as instructed . . .. will I still have to get the BCM "flashed" to make the mirrors travel as they are supposed to from the in position to the out position? Sir, would you have any advice on fixing this problem? My 201 Silverado is having a problem with my passenger front window. It goes up and down from the switch on the passenger door but will only go up from the driver's side switch. It will make a clicking sound but will never go down. I have replaced the driver's side switch multiple times. It has to be a wire or something on the passenger side that stops the drivers side from rolling the passenger side window down. As mentioned, the driver's side rolls the passenger side up with no issues, just won't roll it down.

I have a problem with one of my windows. Whenever i use my master switch to lower the front passenger window, it works fine in lowering it, but whenever i want to raise the window i have to flick the switch about 3 times until it finally moves. I tried to see if the problem was the same whenever i tried the front passenger switch but it works completely fine. Could it be my master switch on the drivers side that is the problem?

I replaced mine. Only the driver window button works now. I was told they could of sold me a faulty on so i tried another one from a diff store and same thing happened. I was told that it has to get programmed. Is this true?

I just replaced the switch assembly for my ‘06 Silverado. Pretty simple affair, but now the door locks are all wonky: they work when they want to, which isn’t often. I’m not convinced it’s a faulty part, as some internet research indicates having to get the thing reprogrammed at the dealer. What do you know about this?

Supposedly the switch itself is burning out..or so I was told by the dealership. Though when I installed a new one, the same exact thing happened again. Also if you and probably several other people have had this problem I cant help but think it may be something other than the switch..

I was told by the dealership that this part has to be "programmed" to operate the proper window with the correct switch. Is this true, or can I order this part and "plug and play"?

The Chevy dealer told me the new switch pack needs to be programmed to the Body Computer Module (BCM) upon being changed. Until then the new switches and locks would not work. Do you know if this is true. I know I can change the part, but for 150$ for programming, plus dealer parts cost, I'm not sure if 1 window switch being intermittent is worth the cost. When I replaced mine it would only operate the drivers side window and nothing else. My plastic switches were just all broken, but everything worked. So instead of paying $135.00 for the dealer to program the module, I simply switched the control board inside the switch with my old one and now everything works fine. Mind you all my buttons worked before they were just cosmetically broken

@@1AAuto as it turns out this one doesn't have the electric locks attached to this assembly. So that means that the item is not actually defective. I need to buy the lock buttons. I called and they were willing to send me a new one if it was needed. Also these switches are great and I can't tell the difference between them and the factory ones. Except these work. Highly recommended! Unfortunately they don't have the power lock button for the one with power mirrors.

I did this because both my front driver and passenger side windows wouldn't roll down. I suspected the driver side switch because the passenger side switch will roll down the passenger windows. The new unit now rolls down the passenger window from the driver side but the driver window is still not moving... Any ideas?

I fought with the tabs holding the old unit in, They kept popping back in to locking the old unit in I ripped pieces of the box the new unit came in to hold the of the tabs while I used the screw driver on the forth

Take the top off the switch and clean the surfaces inside the switch. Often you can clean up the switch and save yourself the cost of a new one. touch pad.
