Parking lamp: amzn.to/3xQSFaW LED Parking Lamp (error free): amzn.to/3kGbt6z
This video shows the dash light symbol for "replacing an external lamp" and also shows how to very quickly find and replace the front parking light bulb on Mini Coopers through 2020 using this bulb type. The vehicle in the video is a 2008 Mini Cooper S (R56) but the type of bulb in the video is still used through 2020 models. When all failed bulbs are replaced, the dash light will go off on its own. No reset is needed. This process is fast, simple, requires no tools and you do not need to raise the car or remove a wheel. Replacement bulbs are listed below. Before buying LED bulbs OR if the dash warning persists after replacing a bulb, see NOTE AT THE BOTTOM.

NOTE AT THE BOTTOM: There is no need to reset anything. Once all failed bulbs are replaced, the system will automatically cancel the dash warning shortly. If the dash warning persists after replacing a failed bulb, there is either another bad bulb somewhere or a non-resistor LED bulb in the system. Check both license plate bulbs, both brake lights, the upper brake light over the rear window, and both running lights. You might also want to check both reverse light bulbs. If they all check out okay, then the problem is likely caused by LED bulbs in the system that do not have built-in resistors.
LED bulbs can be much brighter and often reduce the draw on a vehicle's battery, but they present challenges. To detect a blown bulb, the vehicle's computer measures the resistance of the light circuit. If the resistance drops below a set threshold, it means a lamp bulb must be blown so the dash warning is triggered. This method is common to many vehicles, not just Mini Coopers. LED emitters (those tiny yellow squares) require extreme low wattage and thus have very low resistance. That's great for your battery, but to the computer, this looks like a blown bulb. So, some of the best quality, perfectly functional LED bulbs will trigger the dash warning light if they do not have built-in resistance to trick the computer. Further, some of the highest quality "Error Free" LED emitters may not be error free in all vehicles. One must chose LED bulbs carefully, or become accustomed to the dash warning. In some cases, even well-reviewed LED bulbs like the ones linked above that are usually error free may cause dash warnings on some vehicles. I hope this helps, thanks for watching.
