HA, nice one bro! I did the same to mine except I used strips of duct tape. Nice and thin and doesn't interfere with the slide motion. 😁 And yes the manual's removal process is the same, if not slightly easier, due to the shift knob being less complicated to remove.

Excellent how-to video! My son and I successfully removed, repaired, and replaced the cover in my 2012 TL SH-AWD yesterday, in about an hour. Two things we did differently / additionally were: 1. We used aluminum (not cloth) duct tape, which is thinner, and offers no clearance or binding problems. 2. I added some silicone grease to the cover tracks on each side to allow the repaired cover to slide more freely.

My shit broke and I just leave it open 😂

great vid, fixed mine and it wasn’t too much of a pain in the ass. plus the tip abt heating ur car up to make the plastic come up easier does help a ton.

I alternatively superglued thin metal zip ties instead of using tape and haven't had an issue since i did it about 2 years ago! just snip off the thick pieces you don't need. Great content and very helpful!

Do this on my 2012 today and it took a while, great tutorial, I used tape and put super glue along the strips and did both sides of rubber, also snapped the little plastic piece that goes on the gear knob but glued it and it’s fine now, hopefully it holds

Jesus guy I would kill to be friends with you haha NOT just a KZfaq supporter huh, man as soon as I tried removing the 1st part you basically removed the longer piece that goes up the dash kinda = huh freaking just my freaking luck, 😩😥it completely cracked = but luckily NOT my TL, huh it was one AT a junk yard, I was taking there center piece out and OMFG do I completely suck with fixing/ working on things😥i SERIOUSLY always seem to brake something smh. So after I got the center piece removed = and it almost broke coming off the TL I was taking it off of at the junk yard/ but I think if you could put like a lil lubricant on that exstreamly thin rubber piece that it'll last a lot longer = basically conditioning the rubber piece that cracked = BUT jeez man I give you soooo much credit and respect for always pretty much doing everything yourself and you didn't even replace it like I did = you've made/ found a pretty much permanent hold/ fix=because yo I seriously absolutely LOVE my 3M tape haha, (gotta be the gray color = NOT THE FAKE CLEAR 3M tape, the clear definitely isn't stronger = because I seriously watched a KZfaq video on which is strongest and the real 3M tape was definitely the strongest = that's what's basically holding our entire body kit on lmaoooo besides a few screws and those cool stick anywhere zip tires lol.... but damm man😳😯💪🏽🤣🤣you SERIOUSLY make everything look soooo simple haha, BUT one wrong twist and boom 💥 snap goes a clip off some part haha = I swear I just have the VERY worst luck. But this I was thankful enough to actually have a friend that kinda knew a little more than me, BUT your just absolutely unbelievable with these car/TL's.... like I completely understand that you used to OR should still work for Acura and that's how your soooo great at all this stuff, = but your a different kinds great, you thought of a awesome way to fix our center console 👏 💪🏽👊🏽absolutely unbelievable! Your OBVIOUSLY in the Acura 4th gen fb group rite?? Haha yup that's me ALWAYS complaining about something haha! I just had Acura replace a ignitor that blew on my driver's side, then 2 days later my freakin ignitor AND bulb blew so I obviously took it back and they SERIOUSLY charged my broke ass literally $400 even just to replace a ignitor = then 2 days later it blew again with the bulb soooo they have me a new ignitor again (under warranty) and they said we were going to charge you $70 extra dollars for NEW hid bulb=and I go out to my TL to find out that those idiots ONLY Changed 🙄 1 HID bulb with a new ignitor so now my drivers side is soooo much brighter than my passenger side and I've got absolutely the most wrose add/ADHD in the world AND havin 1 brand new bulb is just ridiculous = and then say they were going to charge me a extra $70 = then there should've been 2 new bulbs NOT just 1 huh🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️i SERIOUSLY absolutely hate my exstreamly local Honda dealership = all they do is scam people + charge $135 per hour AND the even worse part is = I'm soooo very sorry if you work at the Acura dealership in Seekonk Massachusetts, BUT they are the absolute worst huh, went there for my oil consumption test AND those assholes knew what they were doing smh, yo I got on the highway rite away and had to get off the next exit because my TL was seriously smoking outta my tail pipes, so I went back = let my car cool down for about 45min = just like (they suggested) and checked me freaking oil, 😳and omfg they seriously had at least 1 quart to 1½ quarts of extra oil in my freakin engine smfh huh... 😒 yooo I was soo pissed so they took it back in and leveled everything out! Then I drove home 80miles away from my closet Acura dealership and my TL was already low on the dip stick smfh, yo my TL failed that test soooo badly and Acura wouldn't except my oil test ALL because the manager at Acura told me himself to just simply follow up with my local Honda dealership, so I obviously did, and when the Honda dealership told Acura that my car failed soooo badly = fucking Acura dealership (wouldn't honor my freakin test) and the time, dates, and milage was over by that point smh. Idk if you get what I'm saying, but Acura screwed me outta a new set of pistons and rings like Everyone else got off there TL failed the test smh. Soooo now I'm stuck using @amsoil 5w-20 I have to put 4 quarts of that in then top her off with Lucas's oil leak stopper = even though my engine don't have a leak, and with that blend I don't have to check my oil for at least 1 month, and before that it would've been empty and I'd of probably ruined my engine! But man that's soo cool you work for Acura AND make all these dope videos to help others out, like I no KZfaq kicks you some doe for doing it, BUT I wanna personally seriously thank you from head to toe greatful for all your videos🔥👊🏽💪🏽❤️❤️keep up the unbelievable work! PS: which Acura dealership you work for haha I wanna go there haha, I SERIOUSLY feel like blowing the Acura dealership I went to up lol, they scammed me outta new engine basically!
