A CV axle has flexible joints. Often, these joints wear out, or seize from contaminants due to the protective boot tearing open. A worn joint is prone to breakage, or other hazards. Excellent, thank you! The only difference between the way you do it and the way I do it is that I spend a half of a day fiddly futzing around trying to get the rusty bolts off! (It may seem petty but a quick reference to the socket size needed to turn those nut/bolts off would have been helpful to your viewers).

Very nice, i have an 08 4.7. Ill be following this when im fixing mine bc i have leakage coming from the seal. Doesnt seem to bad. Might need to buy a few tools for the job though.

So how did you take off the intermediate axle from the old axle? You never showed it in the video, or did the new one come with a new intermediate axle

Great video of this. If your seals leaking, dollars to donuts the stub shaft bearing is wore out. I couldn’t get mine separated either…off to the rainforest.

So I just replaced mine and the cv Axl is leaking where the seal goes I used the old seal bc i couldn't find one in time is that most likely the problem

Mines got 4 holes on the seal and my intermediate shaft is different making it hard to just replace the bearing? I guess I’ll check to see if this a. Updated version but its on a 06 1500 bighorn 🤷🏽

is the axle nut torque actually 185? Ive seen 185, 225, and 263 online. I have a 2010 ram 1500 SLT 5.7L

This is exactly what I need done to my truck in the Nyc any mechanics, please let me know. Dealer charges way too much for this. That seem around. The CV axle and intermediate shaft. mines is not there it’s leaking.

I am going to help a friend replace his front diff and cv shafts on his dodge , I drive a Chevy and to my understanding they are slightly different set ups before I order the parts needed I need a better understanding of what Is what, In your video it shows the stub shaft being put back into the diff as a separate part from the cv shaft but when it was pulled it was attatched Is the stub shaft a separate part that would need to be ordered aswell or does it come with the cv axles? Thank you

Yeah, I have seen where the SEAL & the RACE are not included on TRQ products. Totally leaving your project hanging in the wind while you need to order more parts that are NOT LISTED when you order. 😡🤬😡🤬

This is not accurate for an 08 dodge Ram 1500. Unless it’s the difference in parts. I bought a Dorman stub shaft. The stub shaft I bought comes with what looks like a sealed bearing. No bearing race. And the cog gear looks completely different from what’s shown in this video. Nothing online matches what’s shown in this video. Exploded parts diagrams do not show any bearing race.

Awe SHIT Moment at 3:12 and forward. This video completely SKIPS the short "Inner Shaft" for the CV Axle on this FRONT RIGHT SIDE. Leaving you hanging with no path to really get the project properly finished UNLESS you watch this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hrh_o7R6xr22gGg.html where it describes the process (on the other side of the truck). Yeah, TRQ (they) left you hanging. 😜 good thing there's another video to get it done.
