I really love your videos. I have learned a lot by watching them. I have a Wurlitzer 61 key piano that I plan to refurbish and make it play like new.

Tacky Glue- is it a special Glue for Felt and Lether ?
@PianoWrench3 жыл бұрын
Yes! it is ideal for gluing felt and leather to wood, metal, or anything you can think of without hardening the felt fibers.

Hi and thanks a lot for this excellent demonstration. I am trying to fix the exact same thing on my 20 yr old Kawai piano. I performed this repair on a few keys using the same materials as you did. The only problem now is that if I press the key down very gently, there is a slight double-hit. The jack does not appear to be gliding across the leather as smoothly as with the original (fake) leather. Should I apply a bit of Micro-Fine PTFE Powder to lubricate it?

Yes. Also, apply some graphite to the tip of the jack to decrease friction.

中国造的没有这样, 这样是日本kawai公司使用的人造皮革,质量太差

Yes, I agree. This was a poor choice by the Kawai engineers to use low-quality material instead of real leather.
