My key fob doesnt twist off. It feels like its going to snap. Im not sure if its one that slides off? Some advice please.

Nice, but can you update it please for the latest keyfobs, where the cover slides across, instead of having to be prized up? I nearly broke my fob following this vid until I realised that it doesn't pop up like you show, but slides once the key is out.

Remove the key as shown, then the back cover slides across instead of prying it open. Push on both ends at the same time, it will seem stiff but it does slide off.

Great tutorial. For me it does not work. I manage to pry the two sides slightly open but it does not pop. The version I have (for a GS450h 2017) has 3 butons ( white) and nothing else and the part with the Lexus symbol has has a striation under the symbol. I am reluctant to force it appart as it looks it may break.

For those people that cannot find a notch to open, it means you just need to slide out the back plastic casing instead

No, no re-programming needed. Your Smart Key is "locked" to your specific Lexus. Without the battery, it does not reset, it's hard programmed to recognize your Lexus & only your Lexus, battery or no battery. Thanks go to Siemens for the technology we now take for granted.

This automatic car is so dumb. You can never tell if the car is on or off and your locks are dependent on a stupid key battery that might run out any time
