Cheers confirming what I was trying! Just have to pinch those tabs harder 👍 CR2032 Battery goes + side down (marked on battery) for anyone who needs to know 🙏

it is a poorly designed system just to replace the battery. Other brands are easy- very easy and quick.

Nice video demonstrating how to reveal and remove the battery compartment. Really helpful. I thought the verbal instruction 'make sure you put the battery in the right way round' could have been better supported with the video to give people more confidence. However, if you watch carefully at 1:32, the writing on the battery is visible and the battery is then inverted into the battery compartment (writing face down).

Thanks a lot, you saved me from the trip to my car dealer, i couldn't figure it out by my self

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Saved us a few quid by DIY instead of paying a garage to do it. :)

Thank you! It was a struggle to get the battery pack out of the fob. The little "wiggle" you suggested did the trick!
@bensmithkent223 жыл бұрын
Simpler and better engineered than the jlr fobs of the era.
@jayharvey9239 Жыл бұрын
@@bensmithkent22 are you joking? This is poorly engineered. Every other brand is easy and fast. Audi is always more difficult for no reason other than to make you visit the dealer. Audi sucks.
@jayharvey9239 Жыл бұрын
Audi makes everything more difficult and complicated than it needs to be. Try changing your cabin air filter.

Excellent help. Always told by dealership that it shouldn't be attempted by owner, needed to be done by trained person - Having followed the video and seen how easy it is I think I know why they say that.
@jayharvey9239 Жыл бұрын
Audi wants you hard earned $$$. They make everything more difficult than it need be. Lexus is simple and takes 30 seconds. Try changing your cabin filter. You need to be a contortionist on a Q5 or Q7 . A replacement key is $600 + $200 to pair it with your car which takes 30 seconds. They take advantage of customers any way they can. Shameful. They should change the key battery for FREE. Yes free. You bought your car from them. Do something to show you appreciate the business. The service dept is poor. I've had to return numerous times because they don't do it the first time. The MMI system is wonky. This is my last Audi. We don't have these problems with Lexus. Our neighbor has a Genesis and raves about their service.

Hahaha I'm guessing the dislikes are from the Audi dealerships who are annoyed at the fact that you posted this video for free whereas they would charge people for this type of thing. Still a good video and helpful.

Still not working after replacement. Anything I could’ve missed? Correct battery, and facing right way.
@GarageTechAutomotive9 ай бұрын
Just double check it is the right way up, do you have any way to test that the new battery is ok? otherwise, it could be a faulty remote, or it has lost the coding to the vehicle

Hi Thank you for full explanation.only just need now have an alert that battery low.do you by any chance know where the emergency key goes in if battery runs completely down .I have the audi tt 2016 kind regards.
@IA2M4695 жыл бұрын
Key is just for opening the doors (remove the caps). Normally you have energy enough to start the car a couple more times but I would suggest to replace the battery asap once you get the message. I just received the message today and ended up here :) (A4 Avant 2017)

No. All I can do is buy a new battery. As for the coding.. how would I be able to tell? All I know is the spare works fine, and I have the right battery in the right way around.
@GarageTechAutomotive9 ай бұрын
Hey, I can’t remember if there’s an LED light on these remotes which flash when you press a button, you could compare to the other remote that does work. That way you will know if the remote is working. Otherwise you won’t be able to tell if the remote is working, you’ll have to take it to a garage and they will be able to check with their diagnostic equipment.

It's OK but all info in that video could be fitted just in a 10-12 seconds. No point watching 2 minutes nonsense. Just show how to remove the blade, then how to squeeze the battery holder to take it out and that's it.
