Dan I just subscribed. Very helpful video. Actually I am going to work on an Ingersoll Rand compressor but my experience is with Atlas Copco ones and this video is a great help.

I’ve done plenty of these. Biggest I’ve done is a 750 Sullair. It’s actually easy an fun to do once you do a couple. Good video.

I’ve got some questions for one of you guys if your willing. got one blowing oil out discharge excessively, I’ve already changed separator filter and scavenge line don’t know what else to check local dealers are no help.

Dan, what do you do when the flywheel is stubborn? Is there a puller for doing it?

No not really, i usually just thread a bolt back in a couple of threads and start hitting the flywheel on either side with a mallet until it breaks free

How heavy was that rotary screw compressor unit? you made it look easy!. I'm replacing a coupler on a 2005 atlas copco xas 97 and I had to get help to get the compressor out. I hope I can align it right. any tips?

That particular one was fairly easy just because it was a clamshell and a really small airend, anything much bigger and you're gonna need some lifting assistance, I've actually removed the side doors off and ran a bar across the top of the body and used straps on both ends to hold them up and move them back, and sometimes you gotta suck it up and just remove the whole body to make room to lift em out

any body know about it, I have air compressor airman PDS185 all working but when I closed the air valves the engine is shut oof, I tun on the engine I open the air valves is working only the issues is when turn off the air valves engine turn off, ant body know about it

I'm not sure since they vary from year to year and model to model, you would need the model and serial number and call a local dealer or get online and contact the manufacturer

It can break from several reasons, turning the air pressure regulator up too high can put more stress on it, airend getting too hot will take more power to turn it, oil leaks can deteriorate the rubber and plastics

Starting on cold weather when engine isn't quite firing on all cylinders yet will do it. Besides all the oil leaking on it and the heat

Oil leaking on it, heat, wear and tear. If it's cold out you have to be careful starting it. Best way is to put it inside overnight otherwise shut.off the engine immediately if it starts to rumble and shake. They go alot
