How To: Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on a 1992 Saab C900 2.1 n/a

3 ай бұрынIn this video, I am replacing the defective 30 year old crankshaft position sensor in my 1992 Saab 900 2.1 n/a. You can't see much when it comes to the R&R of the sensor from the car, but I do cover some of the tips/tricks in the video as well as what part number to order and how to wire it.
Hopefully this video helps someone as there isn't much solid information out there for this repair. I've seen people scrap these cars out over this relatively simple repair. Lets save the classics!

I had the exact same problem - even managed to break one of the T20 screws holding the sensor housing and connected the sensor wrong (according to the writing on the sensor which is wrong). There is a method to replace the sensor with one in a turbo distributor - haven't done that yet.

I looked into doing that, it is definitely possible as the turbo distributor has the sensor internally, the wiring isn't even that hard. That sensor in the distributor isn't as accurate/precise as the one behind the crankshaft pulley. At the end of the day I decided to just replace the defective sensor
