When you're torquing the E20's turn the steering wheel so the caliper is facing outward 30 degrees or so. Now you have all the room you need. All your videos are thorough and informative. Thanks.

Good video. Just an FYI, theres a threaded rod that should be with your spare tire in the trunk that you thread into the hub and slide the wheel over. This holds the tire in place while you put the lug studs in.

Good job. Nice vid. Little trick you might know but forgot. To fit your long torque wrench. Turn your wheels and you’ll have easier access for long bar and also to see better behind ... cheers. Thanks for the good video

You could also use a 12 point 16mm socket for the caliper bracket bolts! Just make sure you replace them each time you do this job! Manufacture recommends it!
@ACHAutomotive
@ACHAutomotive 4 жыл бұрын
But as I recall they are 6pt bolts and while a 12pt will certainly fit, they have the tendency to round the head of the bolt. And from what I have read in the factory service manual right from FCA, they only require the rear caliper bolts be replaced as they are torque to yield.

@@ACHAutomotive I find if very difficult to torque these torx bolts down to 130ft lbs, I would much rather use a regular grade 8 bolt. Does anyone know the thread and size of the bolts?

how come you used carquest wearever for the back and evolution power stop slotted in the front?
@ACHAutomotive
@ACHAutomotive 4 жыл бұрын
I like Powerstop. Have had great success with them over the years. That being said, I cannot buy Powerstop locally and my wife was complaining that the brakes were making a grinding noise. Upon inspection I found that one side was metal-to-metal and had no pad left. Didn't have a choice so I took whatever the local part store had on the shelf. I have a CV to change in the back and will be changing them to Powerstop at that time.

Thanks again for a good video! Front brakes are easier caus you don't have to care about the EPB :) The rotors hade different part number, does that mean that they have to rotate in a specific direction and should not be mounted on the wrong side? I think you forgot the locktite on the bracket bolts.
@ACHAutomotive
@ACHAutomotive 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I believe the difference in part number is because the are drilled/slotted and they need to be on a specific side in order for that to work properly. The bracket bolts already appeared to have some form of locktite on them from the factory so I did not add any more.

Great video! Looks like if I am only looking to replace the brake pads, I can do it in place. Which means I do not need to remove the brake pad assembly.(So I do not have to deal with the TTY bolts) Please correct me if I am wrong. When replacing the rear brake pads, can I do it in place too? Thanks!
@ACHAutomotive

I believe, if I recall, you can replace them without taking the slide bracket off. You will need to tell the computer you are doing the rear brakes though. Check out my video here to learn how: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNGIoJRhqN20iok.html

Would there be an issue with re-using the old hex bolts for the caliper bracket? Some stuff I read says it doesn’t need to be replaced and others say that it does. Shipping from East Coast Mopar is really expensive.
@ACHAutomotive
@ACHAutomotive 4 жыл бұрын
So technically you are supposed to replace them. They are TTY bolts (Torque To Yield) which means they stretch once you torque them down. With that being said, I have, in a pinch, re-used them. I've found East Coast Moparts to be the cheapest for parts, at least for me. But you might be able to find the bolts elsewhere.

@@justinelko588 I never came back and replied, but I ended up buying mine from East Coast Mopar and paying for the extra shipping. It just gave me more peace of mind. They worked really well. I’ve driven about 4,000 miles on the brakes since changing and all has been well.
