Thanks for the video..... For general knowledge.... On my Bosch Nexxt 300 series WFMC2201UC, the specifications from the repair manual are as follows. Measure resistance all parts disconnected. Heater 13.7 - 15.2 ohms NTC 22.8 - 27.4 kilo ohms @68 degrees F. Water inlet valves 2.7 - 4.5 kilo ohms. Drain pump 140 - 200 ohms. Also, E13 can be a pain to fix.....Usually is the pump, but also too much detergent being used can throw that code too. One often overlooked repair is to remove both drain hoses and thoroughly clean them out. They may be restricting drainage flow from pump. (One hose comes from pump to back of washer from inside machine. The other is the drain hose from the back of machine on the outside.) These hose can get clogged with all sort of crap and build up. OK....still with me? Steps for a happy Bosch washer. Clean drain hoses or replace. Descale heater element. Clean water inlet valves. Try a little spray of auto brake cleaner spray into front and back of valves......Obviously wipe excess and run some empty wash cycles. Mine cleared out some stuff. Check to make sure screens are clear too. Check water supply hoses for good water pressure. (disconnect and see how water flows into bucket. Should be a pretty strong flow. Clean pump trap....or replace pump if needed. I hope this helps some people with their repairs.

A very useful video but my Bosch WFL 2450 washing machine had the pump secured to the pump housing with a single screw that had to be removed before the pump could be turned on the bayonet fixing and released. It was difficult to see the screw head so my suggestion is to check for its presence before applying any force to release the pump.

This was helpful. On our older washer the pump is at try e front and to really get purchase on the hose clamp you have to release the small housing which can be done by releasing four clips on the inside of the front and then a screw next to the drain filter

You saved me at least $200 if not more. My pump was working but filter was blocked completely with 21 collar stays- both metal and plastic ones. I had made three attempts to open the front panel of my Bosch washer dryer but was not successful. After watching your video, I had the courage to make another attempt and was successful this time. Opened top panel, followed by back panel, then removed the three screws behind the laundry detergent sliding plastic compartment. Then removed the control panel (containing knob with various washer dryer cycle options ) by pushing the white colour latch on the right hand side from behind, outwards. It needs a simple push outwards whilst pulling the top 3 plastic bits (also) of the control panel using hand. I could then access the screws holding the front panel in place. I removed washing machine door also. Then removed the metal wire containing spring around the (rubber) cover of the drum. I then laid the washing machine on its back (rather than one its side) and removed three bolts at the bottom holding bottom panel and front panel in place. I then removed 4 screws on the plastic panel that sits at the bottom of the front panel which has the drainage tube and filter plug. I could then remove the front panel and access the filter. Removed the collar stays blocking the filter.

Thanks. I checked this video as my machine stopped draining properly and I figured it wasn't pumping. I had tried to clean the fluff filter but it would only move half a turn. We tipped the machine almost onto it's back and removed the one end of black rubber pipe that is attached to one end of the filter. From there we were able to access the filter from the side and pulled out several hair clips, a coin, wet fluff, and a usb. After that the dial loosened and we were finally able to clean it out properly. Thankfully, we didn't need to replace the pump. The machine is working properly now. :) Your clip definitely gave me the confidence to give this a go. Thanks

DAMN, That was it. You saved us $$$$$. We washed a 3" X 3" micro fiber cloth that got sucked in the lint collector. So easy. Just one thing. You should get a wet dry vacuum and get as much water out of the drum as possible. Then have towels for the water that is in the hose that will drain out. Thank you!

I have a Bosh classixx7. Thank you for this video. It gave me confidence to tackle my machine. It was my fluff bit, smashed and stuck by a 2.5" screw also jamming against the pump. After a lot of whiggling and carefully tweezed out bits (as there is a channel inside, above the pull out drain pipe) I ordered just the fluff bit from eurospares. My machine works! Viewed your Video and greatly appreciated your presentation. I have a BOSCH Washer WFK2401UC which is very similar to the one in the video. I was able to diagnose that the poor draining and damp clothes was most likely an accumulation of the dirt and particulate buildup over the years of use. I removed turned off all of the electricity, water , and disassembled the back and top installation plates, and removed the Pea Trap and hoses from the drain pump. The buildup was considerable. I cleaned all of the hoses up and reassembled the components. The Washer works great now. Thanks so much for your presentation and time. You really assisted me in the task.

Hi Michael, Not sure if that was causing your problem or if it has just cleared temporarily. Damp clothes after a spin suggests either the motor brushes are at the end of their live giving intermittent drive. or the problem could be due to an out of balanced load stopping the machine from spinning to full speed. Check out the following videos in case the problem re occurs. How to replace washing machine carbon brushes on a Bosch washer How to Prevent a Washing Machines Spinning Noisily

Thanks for this video. It encouraged me to tackle my Bosch pump. It is fairly simple although there can be little differences and annoyances. The main one is, on the pump there is a grub screw that secures the pump to the housing. It cannot be seen in situ, but look at the replacement and you will see the need for its removal. Use a mirror and torch. The other is the screws which secure the back, top, pump have "torx" screwheads. I know it says this in the video, but I wasn't aware of the name. Luckily I have a set of these. I thought they were called "star" bits.

RE Michelle Ebbett's comment: The machine is filled by mains water pressure when the inlet valve is opened. If you have had a blockage it is possible the pump is damaged and the machine recognises this and prevents it filling. Video gave me the confidence to try this out so thanks for that. A couple of niggles. My Bosch has a metal plate on the underneath so access is not as easy as shown on the video. Had to take the front foot plate off to access. Plus the spare part I ordered was the complete pump, not just the motor. Would be good to include a video showing the complete pump replacement as that's what I did.

Hi Brian, thanks for the comments. As you found out manufacturers often change the designs of machines although the parts are often similar if not the same. We have many 'pump replacement' videos, some just the motor, others the complete assembly. If you are following a video for a part and it seems different to the machine you are working on it is worth looking for other videos as we may have a more similar machine layout that is from a different manufacturer.
@eSpares
@eSpares 13 жыл бұрын

Yeah, so thanks for this video. I gleaned some useful information from it, such as stabilizing the drum before turning the machine on its side. However, few if any of the other details described my repair on an early model bosch nexxt. Maybe a disclaimer that states this only describes repairs to later models?

Siemens WM14S794/GB here. I was choosing between the universal drain pump and the whole universal drain pump and filter assembly for a few quid more. I went for the latter. The waste hose out of the assembly has sort of arrow flanges holding it in the existing assembly. How do I safely remove them without damaging the waste hose? For info, this model also has a screw behind the drain pump and no access through the bottom.

Thanks for the video! I have a question for you, my washer is giving me error code 13 so I'm sure it's probably just blockage, but when I twist off the cap to the drain pump it doesn't open all the way, so I can't get anything out; it's a different model than the ones on your videos. Would you have any idea how to open that up on a 500 series WFVC6450? The only thing I can think of is to take the washer apart and take the pump out as if I were replacing it, but I don't really want to do that. I have looked everywhere online that I can think of and I can't find instructions on how to open that specific kind of pump.

Quick question - given the bottom of the machine doesn't have a cover, why did you need to remove the top and back panels? Was it only to slip the cardboard in there? I have the original moving screws that lock the barrel in place, so theoretically I could just install them and tip it straight on it's side ride?

After a long time trying to twist off the drain pump, with absolutely nothing moving, I removed the whole unit (fluff trap body complete with pump) from the machine. It was only then that I saw that on my Bosch model (Classix 1200) there is a screw holding the pump in, that has to be removed before the pump can be twisted off

Reply for Cindy Swaidan. When leaving comments ensure you do not 'disable replies as you may not receive notification of others comments. The likely reason for the pump blockage and stuck 'filter' is likely to be hair grips coins or other debris that has entered the pump from the tub hose and is preventing you removing it. You may be able to carefully lower onto its side and remove the tub hose from the pump to remove this debris and then the filter should come out.

@eSpares 7 жыл бұрын
We almost certainly have a suitable pump but we do need the full model number not the range to ensure we offer the right part. This needs to include the WAE? at the beginning and the GB/xx at the end. If you cannot locate the part on our website fill in the information at the following link: www.espares.co.uk/contact/sales

"Remove pump by twisting anti clockwise".....only problem with my Bosch Maxx WFL2260/UK12 model was that it was held by a tiny hidden screw underneath to the filter. Pulling it out broke the plastic that held it or sealed it to the fluff trap. Now with the new pump in place it's peeing out water because of the broken plastic. What part do I order now that holds the pump? The filter's OK.

Hi E Spares, is it really necessary to remove the top cover and tilt the machine on its side to replace the pump? My washer has a dryer installed on top of it, wich makes it difficult to move the machine. I can however reach the back panel easily.
@eSpares
@eSpares 9 жыл бұрын
emberhxc There are often a number of ways to carry out a repair and if you can reach from the back and replace your pump by all means use that method. Just don't forget to disconnect the power and drain the water from the pump first.

Have followed your video,, however the pump will not turn to disconnect it.. So my question is do you have any idea why my pump will not turn to screw off??? thank you
@eSpares
@eSpares 8 жыл бұрын
+Sheena Randell The likely reason for the pump blockage and stuck 'filter' is likely to be hair grips coins or other debris that has entered the pump from the tub hose and is preventing you removing it. You may be able to carefully lower onto its side and remove the tub hose from the pump to remove this debris, then the filter should come out.

I do know that the pump is running as I can hear it running, I left filter cap off and put the machine onto a drain program, I saw that the pump propeller did in fact spin.. I am at a loss??? Do I need a new pump or not?? Or is now a job for a repair man? Many thanks regards Sheena

Just an add in, the pump in my Bosch Maxx WFO 2450 is fixed with à screw. This prevents the pump to unscrew itself. The screw was in the inside, hard to see but not very difficult to remove. For my model you don't need to remove the top.

Nice video but note my experience!. A blocked pump has plagued my 12 y.o. Bosch Maxx machine twice. Called an engineer first time (about 5 years ago) - nice guy I've used before- £35 for a 15min fiddle and errant 5p coin removed. He showed me enough to confidently try myself yesterday but I 'revised' by watching this item.I have the same model as in the video but....... Drained the flooded machine using the front tube and checked the filter -fine. NB no need for top off as the underside is open! Back of mine has oval inspection plate- one torx screw to remove then wedge the drum as shown in video. Rest machine with pump side down to easily access it-- NOW THE BIG DIFFERENCE- after wrestling with 'twist the pump off' for about an hour bemoaning age (59) and arthritic hands (wish this on your enemies- my thumb base joints are excruciating) I was ready to call the engineer again. I then spotted it was easy to remove pump and filter together in one piece. Lo and behold they were screwed together! Aagh!. I then spotted the problem - a corroding hair grip had wedged behind the impeller blades (half it's normal thickness- it had been waiting to cause a problem for some time). Job done- reassemble etc. All works fine again. A final point - If I had looked really closely (torch) during the initial filter check I'm sure I would have seen the problem and removed it (thin pliers) without any other work at all...dooooh! Morals-You can do these jobs- a bit heavy and awkward at times- constructions vary so Utube may not be the right way- it takes a while sometimes- look very closely etc to save time- don't forget to unplug!

+Stephen Palmer Hi Stephen, thanks for your comments. It is not unusual for coins and grips to jam the filter preventing it being removed. Some people try and force this and end up braking the filter using grips. We are glad you resolved the problem and just remind any one who loads the machine that a stray hair grip or coin can do a lot of damage so it is important to ensure you check pockets when starting a wash. NB: You may be able to 'edit' your post and amend the crossed out line. All we can do is remove a post or accept it. :-)

Hows things... I have a Bosch Exxcel 8 just over 2 years now. So far we have had an engineer out 2 times. Once for an Error E18 which he replaced the pump and another time for something else. We regularly get an Error 18 but can't find any blockages and the filter is very clean. Checked the exit hose too and all is clear. Its getting very annoying especially considering our last machine worked flawlessly for 15 years..! Any ideas...?

Seems that some Bosh machine pumps have three mounting lugs and some four. My machine has four and to remove it the motor assembly has to be turned clockwise rather than anticlockwise. There are also two little plastic stops that have to be lifted before it will rotate far enough to pull off.

Hi K Hewitt, thanks for your comments. This repair can be done in a couple of ways and by carrying out in this manner it is possible to do without disconnecting the plumbing and without lowering for those who may not be physically strong enough to do without potential injury. We have a number of other 'pump replacement videos' that show the easier 'lower and through the base' method.

Had Rory been repairing a 3200UC, he would not have been able to remove the bottom panel, as he did in this video. Furthermore, the discharge hose on the 3200UC does not have a clamp, but snaps into the pump assembly. The pump in the 3200UC, is an integral part of the filter assembly, and as such, cannot be twisted out. The discharge hose on the 3200UC has no clamp, but instead is snapped into the pump assembly. So basically, if you own a 3200UC, and follow this video, you too will be HOSED.
