Great video! Clear and concise. It's less scary to lift and grab below the canister when twisting to remove. Also, the single Kohler ring was $7 vs. $6 for the Korky 2-pack at Lowe's, so for a 2 minute repair, I chose the 2-pack and fixed two leaking toilets. Thanks for the video!

Last video I was watching from another guy, he was like, "K, you have to use a shoe lace to tie this end to another end so that water can stop flowing...OH let me wipe my hands down on my pants to do this on the correct hand." There are at least six more videos on this subject and this is the only one I could watch without getting sick. Thanks for using s tripod or some fixture to hold your camera still. The others were using hand held cameras and I could not stand to watch them. Also you kept the commentary short and to the point. The rest of the guys were rambling all over the place. Good Job.

I've watched a lot of DIY videos online and they never quite work out when I try it on my own ---but this one --- spot on !! I feel like I actually accomplished what I set out to do after watching this and replacing the seal on my Kohler toilet. Unfortunately, my local Home Depot and Walmart were out of the valve seals so I had to order online and pay an extra $5 for shipping --but I'll pay a total of $10 every time if I can fix a leaky toilet without calling a plumber and paying 10x that much ! THANKS! I had sealed the flush canister seal with Vaseline, turned the fill canister a 1/4 turn counter clock wise and the tank finally filled. But I don't think the Vaseline will hold for long. Now I know how to replace the seal, thanks to you!

Excellent video. So easy to follow, great lighting and super use of tripod to focus in on the detail. The hardest part for me was getting the chain off, my hands being too big in that cramped space. My wife's smaller hands did it with no problem.

Happy New Year to you. I took a picture of the faulty flush valve with me.First the 'plumbing assistant' at Home Depot disavowed all knowledge.Yes, we know what toilets that use these. If it's a Kohler or American Standard toilet we don't have a repair kit. He even suggested a plumbing supply store nearby that was closed Saturdays but would be open on Sunday. Ya, as if. Then on Sunday I went to the oldest Rona store [over 40 years in the same location] only to hear the same answer...If it's a Kohler or American Standard toilet we don't have a repair kit. Found your video and checked online to make sure the HD store had 1 in stock. For heavens sake, the back of the Korky package has an image that shows both the AS and K models and how to replace the seal. That is the easiest toilet repair I have ever undertaken, once I had the right part. Thanks again.

Thank you for this video especially the part about twisting that center rod. If anyone has a problem with removing the tube or chain this repair can be made by just shutting the water off and twisting the center rod off as described in the video, I left the water hose and the chain attached and was able to make the repair fast.
