That was it! The rubber must have worn loose and the eye hook was disconnected from the transmission, which is why I wasn't able to shift it out of park and had a loose shifter. Thank you for your help!

Where did you get the part? I'm currently having this issue on my escape. It shifts in and out p, r, n, d, l just fine but it feels loose and it rolls in park.

@@sv3351 Fortunately the only thing I needed to buy was a multi-pack of different sized rubber grommets that I was able to replace the one that worn itself off the original cable and that was missing completely, which is why when I went to shift it popped right off the transmission itself and I had to have my friend hold the brake down so I could manually shift it into drive to get it home.

I was too lazy to jack up the car and remove the wheel liner. You can remove the battery and the air filter housing and reach it from above but you have to feel around more.

Any idea what size rubber washer is used?

You know most people actually explain what they are doing as they do it in an instructional video. It's considered helpful.

If you can't figure out what is going on then fixing your car yourself is beyond your skill level.

I believe OP doesn't speak English that was why he didn't say anything. If he could speak English, he wouldn't repair cars in Taiwan.

Good video for mechanics, b/c a commun person has no idea what is being done without an explanation. Question is WHY WOULD A MECHANIC NEED TO WATCH A VIDEO ABOUT REPLACING PARTS🤭
@ALT_RIGHT Жыл бұрын
Because there are so many parts on automobile chances are there's something a mechanic has never done before
