Cutting the valve opening with a knife is simply wrong. Much better to watch the Stan's No Tube videos and do it right.

Glad you like them! We use Stan's Original Sealant on our bikes, but everyone here varies on their personal setups.

We haven't seen that done before. Obviously, your safest bet would be to replace the tape, but you could try covering it with some heavy duty tape or more of the same tubeless tape. You'd want to make sure you completely clean the area so the tape actually sticks, though. Interested to know how that works for you!

@@theproscloset You should know no industry can stay stagnat. They must innovate or die. No question there. Some new designs are truly propel bicycling to another level of performance, and speed, with safety in mind. Example: Shimano SIS shifting revolutionized bicycle shifting. Truly good upgrade. And no cons. LOOK: Clipless pedals. Again, a marked improvement, without any cons. Tubeless tires. Implying no tubes. But in fact, tubeless tape and Tubless cement needed. Which can be argued is the same as a tube. Then, seating tape. Installing tire. Installing cement. Sounds great to naive customers who just want to ride and have fun. Then, comes re-glueing. ? Customers not aware. Not told expense of this. Ripped tire...cement squirts everywhere on bike, rims, clothes, etc. I.E. - Customers don't know when told how great it is, all the post work must be done to keep the system going. When grandma and grandpa show up for new tires, they are shocked at the cost. Why so much? "Well, we got to clean the old cement out. It's like gorilla snot and cement in there. So, now we need new tape, big cleaning rim labor, new glue(sealant), and gotta keep your bike overnight. "Why- gramps asks"? "Because we want to make sure it doesn't leak". To each their own. I've earned the right to be opinionated because I've seen new gadgets come and go. Tubeless tires set up is overly complex, over engineered, for 99% of riders. It's doubtful it's measurable. But it "NEW and DIFFERENT " , and that's what the people want, whether it's good or not. Shimano biopace, in the trash. Mtn. Bike bar ends, in the trash Press fit bottom brackets- bad design. As a Suzuki/ Yamaha/ Honda mechanic who build thousands of 2-stroke engines & cranks, when I first saw what **** and other companies were doing, In the name of saving grams, I shook my head and smiled, laughed. Not every new design is good. Want the latest flavor of the month, go ahead. I don't want to listen to whining about about all the B.S. you'll have to deal with Tubeless setup.

@@tigerone2353 I gave up on reading. But your wrong. Tubeless for MTB is a huge upgrade. I’m 210 lbs , run 20 psi on slick days. If I ran 20psi in a tube it would pinch flat. If you dirt jump it really doesn’t matter because your running higher pressure anyways. You simply cannot run a tube at low pressure over rough terrain

There are 99% other riders other than you. They don't need it- you do. I suppose the trillion bicycle riders in Asia are suffering not having tubeless.
