Very nicely done. No nonsense, outstanding explanation through each step. I'd prefer blue loctite on the hub and caliper mounting bolts however that is simply a personal preference. Again, very nicely done.

Talk about detailed instructions. I've bought a couple hubs from A-1 in the past and videos like this are a massive help. I wanted mainly to here the mechanic say what size sockets to use. About to do a Jeep JK hub, and feel it will be easy after this video (ya I know, I'm not that lucky, but the video still helps).

This video was great! I was able to replace the front passenger side hub bearing easy with this information. FYI. You NEED a 35 mm socket for this. Also, I was unable to hammer the hub out. I had to use a 7 ton reversible Puller to dislodged the hub from the CV axle. Used rent a tool at O'Riley Auto parts for the puller ($90), torque wrench ($99) and had to get the wheel nut kit (109). All was refunded to me on return. Hope this helps someone!

I would replace those 12 point bolts too, they have 6 point versions available. I would also buy a Mopar ABS sensor to replace the one in an aftermarket part. I prefer to stay with OEM sensors and OEM for anything electronic. I always buy new hardware when I replace parts that rust (here in the rust belt). I replaced all the bolts when I did not steering linkage, shocks, track bars, even if ai drop the transmission pan, I replace all the bolts, or at least a good wire brush cleaning.

I googled the 12 point screw versus 6 point hex debate, and the answer seems to be they fit in tighter spaces and can give you more surface for the socket to engage without rounding off. I guess it all depends on the head size chosen. Thanks for making the video.

Interesting.... 12 pointers that are rusted out from being under a jeep are one half turn from being rounded. I swear I brushed one off and it immediately became rounded.

Replacing my axle shaft u joint. Good reference. Stupid 12 point bolts were so rusted that I needed to use a bolt extractor to get them out. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy new bolts with my hub, so my Jeep will be sitting on the jack stands for 4 days off.

1A Auto Parts thanks, worked about as well as one would expect for a 13 year old rust bucket. Had to replace the 12pt bolts. Unfortunately didn’t realize this until after I had to use an extractor to get the bolts out. Jeep ended up on stands for 4 day. Did use that time to do some rust remediation that I probably wouldn’t have done otherwise, though.

12 point given the same size have more torque capacity. Problem is more surface area for rust to do it’s thing. Also the part where she was about to hit the axle shaft with a steel hammer, yikes.

Question. I replaced my hub bearing assembly on the passenger side. After I finished the abs light came back on and I got a C1042 code. The next day (last night) i replaced the driver side as well. Some research said that that the signal strength between the two sensors (new hub and old one) could cause it. Since the driver side was old I figured why not. I still have that code popping up. Any ideas on why?
