Like Chinese Cream said, there’s a service mode that’s activated from inside the car with the axillary switch on. Hold the wiper stock up for a count of 5 seconds to put the blades in service mode. (Turn axillary mode off ) When the blades are switched out, return to the car with the axillary switch on, then hold the wiper stock down for 3-5 seconds to return blades to operating position.

Everybody in the comments tripping about “putting em in service mode” like this actually gonna save your car or some or time. Like cmon, these guys know more than all of us combined when it comes to BMW

Turning on the ignition and turning it back off, then holding up on the wiper lever for more than three seconds will put the wiper into service mode. This will put the wipers in a vertical position and allow you to fold the arm back and change the wiper blades.

How come u didn’t start the car and place it in service mode, then hit the wipers to come up and change the blades.

These are not good instructions. You are supposed to the hold the wiper blade handle inside the car up to the top position, past the point of resistance. It will sort of nudge you when you get past it by pushing it up. Hold for 3 seconds and the wiper blades will move to the position so you can change them way the easier than what you see here in this video.

Push the start button once with your foot off the brake, then push it again, then push the wiper stalk on the steering wheel for 3 seconds & the wiper arms move up into ‘wiper changing position’. No need to open the hood.

This is WRONG ! You are going to dent and scratch the edge of the bonnet. You need to put the wipers on service mode by holding the wiper knob upwards for 5 seconds. Then the wiper blade will raise and stay on the screen. Only then you remove the old wiper.
