Good video. The module can be removed from below. No need for removing water hose or anything else under the intake. And dont use grease on the glow plug, it will not work in your favor next time removing! Happy repairing!

There was a little bit more than just a little bit of coolant coming out, my whole garage floor was in it :( but the real problem I had was that my ordered glow plugs did not fit in, the pin (bottom part) was 5 mm thick for the Beru GE102 which do match OEN number wise, but the old ones were just 4 mm thick. Which glow plugs did you use exactly?

Job well done! 👍🏻 but I remember now why I sold my e61(535 d) so much work just for the glow plugs amazing. I’m definitely staying with my e39, Bmw never build a better motor than the m54.

I've forgot to mention that there is a 10 mm screw that holds the dips stick bolted to the manifold

for all of you who have faulty glow plugs or glow plug regulator; I advise you to do that; if you have electricity and a hair dryer in the cushion, then direct it into the suction channel of the air filter, add warm air and your vehicle will start immediately even with faulty glow plugs.

Bouth. You can scan for errors and you can activate different modules and different functions

You might forgot something to plug in because the glow plugs are needed just when is cold outside. This should not make the car not start

It might be normal...different models different engines (facelift, non facelift) and so on

Normally you don't need any scanner or reset just in some cases when the battery was disconnected for a long time and was saved with that error.

Glow plug module (for diesel engines) this is instead of the coil pack for the spark plugs on the gas engines

I've noticed that when cold outside started very hard...I've scanned the modules and the error was right there...

Daca iti spune exact ce bujie nu merge atunci poți schimba doar bujia/bujiile dacă nu trebuie testat cu software care poate activa și deactiva modulul. În mod normal se schimba cu modul cu tot pentru ca trebuie data jos admisia și nu merita sa faci munca de 2 ori. E scump dar cum crezi ca e bine pentru tine

It is a high temp grease for glow plugs, sometimes comes in the package if not you can order it separately

I was watching 4 other videos on the same subject. Everybody disconnected the Y coolant pipe. Without that , the job is nearly impossible to do.

Correct I have replaced my glow plug module by only removing the plastic top engine cover. The first time was difficult but a lot easier the second time as I knew what to do. Access is very bad but it is possible. Preferable in fact because you dont have to remove anything.
