Error message shows when quick setup is selected: comms error It only started a week ago... Thank you so much for the informative videos 🙏

Thank you Yolandi, Comms error is usually a pc board error, did you by any chance see insects in the motor? If so, at the bottom of the pc board there is 3 screws. Remove them and have a look at the pcb. That should help you clarify the issue.

Hi Yolandi, after your comment I have experienced more of this issue. You have to reboot the control card to resolve this error. Remove all power from the control card and leave off for 2 minutes. Now reboot and the issue will be gone. It is caused by outages and spikes to the control card during AC power restore

Can I use BW40 oil in an ET nace 500kg stepper motor?

Thank you for the comment, there should never be need for oil in the motor, if you need to add oil... you could be servicing the gearbox with new seals and drain the oil completely, when you do that you can purchase the correct oil for the motor at the same time.

Hello I am struggling with a Drive 600 the pcb just tells me Standard Mode I can't go into programming the BT button don't work and my RF light flickers and ACT light is static on I replaced the pcb with another pcb that the client have but still doing the same

Hi Gerrit, unfortunately i could not come up with a workaround for your issue, it seems it could be power related if both cards are doing the same thing. My advise would be to take the motor to ET if your in the Cape Town area after the 9th of January 2023.

Hi, please help me out. I have Et 500 drive, literally under a year I would assume, motor began to slow down to a point where it refused to move, I was advised to put in a new battery because of constant loadshedding, screen displays "Standard mode, 12v Aux Error" Put in a new battery worked for few days, only, back to same problem, how do I set it up..... Also motor is not making in beeping sounds

Hi Jafer, thank you for the comment. An Aux error is caused by devices that is added to the motor, beams or receivers. It can also be caused by insects on the board. Have you also checked the fuse on the side? When in standby mode scroll with the arrows and check everything that indicates voltages. Look for AC power in, Charge rate and Aux Voltage

@@nicksandtrickssa hi thanks for the instant reply... I have checked fuse all is fine there, will check out other indicators as you have pointed out,.. Any reason as to why I am not getting any beeping sounds when pressing buttons or disconnecting and reconnecting battery..how do I know if the pc board is at fault?

Also check the door release cable and connector, if you have a little black jumper, bridge the door release without the cable. Email me a pic of the pcb to technical@rsec.co.za So i can see what were dealing with

hi i have a problem that one for yesterday its sorted but this one for today its about running time limits when its opening its reduce speed and stop but when its closing verifying the distance its just go on speed and hit the wall pillar it doesn't stop

Hi there, could you please advise? gate does not fully open or close and I'm getting encoder stall on Drive 500. There are no obstructions so when I try to set run time I get the error... Thank you

Thank you for the comment Nunu, encoder stall is sometimes the Rev counter not seeing the picup, when you move the gate manually does the encoder light go on and off, it's found under the buttons, it says ACT, if not it's not seeing this motor turn. It could also be a inner motor issue, are you in the Cape Town surrounds? If so call Rsec Security Equipment Center

I will double check in the morning but the only lights I recall seeing was the status flashing and the 12V battery light stayed on the whole time...I am in Cpt so will contact your guys, was just taking a shot in the dark to see if I can resolve it 😁. Thank you for the comment, please reset your receiver and follow my guid on adding remotes, if you tried to, or added remotes at the time it started doing this... Then your neighbours remote is working on your gate
