How To Reset Your Genie Garage Door Opener If You Lose Your Keypad PIN Code

I moved into a rental house and don't know the garage door opener pin code. Even if I did, I'd probably want to reset it. This is how to do it - to reprogram the Genie GWKP.
There are two parts to the process: the first is telling the keypad to forget the old PIN code and setting a new PIN (which I guess you could do to anyone's garage door keypad and stop them getting into their home). The second is to pair this up with the garage door opener itself, the same as you do to learn a new remote button.
The Genie Intellicode GWKP is now the Genie Intellicode Wireless keypad GWKP GK-BX

The light stays on for few seconds where someone can press open and break in. Thats what i don't like
