Hey Mark have you ever tried welding platinum? Can be done with the standard propane and oxygen torch. Works great and no solder lines from buffing.

Hiya, I was wondering if the sand and water method for protecting the diamonds works on all types of metals and stones? Cheers, Z

Some stones more than likely will not tolerate this method, like jade, opals - the softer ones. Platinum and gold work better since they do not conduct the heat as quickly as silver. Silver will channel the heat right into the water so you need a significantly hotter flame to get past that massive heat sink.

Hi! How many sizes one down one can do for such a ring (with a center diamond in WG)? I have eu 55 and need 49, do you think it is feasible to do without a distortion?

It’s really hard to say with out seeing the ring but in theory yes keep an eye on the setting the stone might need to be tightened afterwards What ct is the white gold ?
