Hi ya yes this can definitely be done u need to play around with the laser settings u may need to up the milliseconds so the laser beam stays on the metal longer for a better weld becauseu are dealing with a higher ct Hope this helps

It’s really hard to say with out seeing the ring but in theory yes keep an eye on the setting the stone might need to be tightened afterwards What ct is the white gold ?

Yes just use silver laser wire or use silver solder pull it down to a very fine wire

@@markjeweller Okay, I see your point. I do not want to offend your skills, if you feel I do, I genuinely apologise. What I want to achieve - fruitlessly, I know - is to keep people away from all these blanks and pre-made settings and all the rest. Once you are able to make these things yourself, you will never look back. It is a freedom that cannot be bought. We - goldsmiths - should also get away from the dictum that time is money because it is absolutely incorrect. Take your time to make something. Make it over and over. Think about design. A lot of people can make utter crap perfectly well. That is not where the challenge lies. Perhaps you think otherwise, but the best advice ever given to me was: make everything yourself. That is what I am doing. My 'repertoire' is rather limited, but within these limitations I can pretty much do whatever I want.

Sir i am from india and working in a jewellery company from 2 years . Here i only got to do to remove casting texture in pieces where it cant be polished. I also set/ repair fallen diamond in casting(wax set diamonds), but i want to become independent jeweler but its nearly imposible to learn whole work here. Jewellery schools are pretty bad here and also i cant afford one because i am getting paid only 18000 ruppes month or only 1 dollor per hour. Is it possible to get an apprenticeship to a expert jeweller outside of my country.
