How to retrofit cruise control and radio buttons on a BMW E46 N46 engine!

This will work for other 3 series E46 BMW: 316i, 318i, 318Ci, 320i, 325i, 330i, 316ti, 318ti, 325ti with M54 or N42 or N46 engine.
M44B19 BOSCH M5.2: Cruise control retrofit needed
N42B18/N42B20 BOSCH M9.2: Pin 27 E Data link MFL (40-pin, black connector)
N46B18/N46B20 BOSCH MEV9: Pin 4 E Data link MFL (26-pin, blackconnector)
M52B20/M52B25/M52B25 SIEMENS MS41: Cruise control system retrofit needed
M52TUB20/M52TUB25/M52TUB28 SIEMENS MS42:Pin 27 E Data link MFL

I have upgraded my e39 to a m sport wheel from a se, but for some strange reason the airbag isn’t sitting right, massive gap at top and it moves any ideas why plus the leather at back of wheel is starting to fail

Hello, i have E46 from 2000 on gasoline. My conector there for cruise control are diffenrent, how can i know where to plug that one wire ? Do you have any pdf file where i can look for it. Thanks I never had cruise control on my car, and i never had buttons on steering wheel. I connected everything but cruise control wont work.

You have to check what engine code you have and in the description of the video I've put a list with that wire and where goes for some engine codes

I have N46 engine and did everything like on video, but cruise don't work. I just press the button, then icon of cruise lights up, but cruise don't work.

After you start the cruise control button (while driving) you have to press "+" button to activate it, it's going to hold the speed the you are driving at the time you press the "+" button. If you have to lower the speed press "-" or "+" to increase the speed. If you press clutch or brake will deactivate the selected speed.

What that wire do, that you just disconnected and said just isolate it :D Btw, nice tutorial.

The wire is in the cars loom till one point for the cruise control but because the car didn't had the option the other part of the wire is missing, not really sure exactly till where goes because I didn't found it and has no power on it....so just take it out, isolate it and you won't loose any functionality of the car! This is just on the n46 engine DME

Did it work before retrofitting the cruise control? If yes it might be just a plug that is not really pushed in. Under the steering wheel or under the airbag

In the description I have a few other variant of engine with the right pin but I don't think I have for the m57. I'll give you an answer when I have one
