This can only be done on phone, camera & small gadget batteries using the + and - wires of a USB cable with a 5V adaptor. You can also use a 9 V battery for more safety.

Yes, but it's better to use a 9V battery for that if you have one instead of a wall charger

Does this work with a Sony battery?I wanna try it but I don't want to ruin the batery.

It works with all small batteries, phones and cameras only. It doesn't ruin the battery if you use a 5W phone adaptor or just a 9V battery
