Here’s my method of riding a bike 1. Make sure your feet are comfortable on the petal 2. Put your dominant food in the pedal, and your other foot on the ground, do not put both feet on the pedals, you have a high chance of falling off. 3. Kick your non dominant foot in the ground like riding a skateboard. This can help on adding speed. Once you got enough speed, put that same foot on the pedal. 4. Do not look at your feet while riding the bike, this happened to me while I was trying to ride it, you could fall off and become more anxious of riding the bike. 5. If you feel like falling down, use the brakes, if you don’t have any, use your foot and kick it on the ground to balance your bike again. 6. In case your going fast, use your foot on the ground and leave it there until the bike stops, you can use your brakes, but that will only slow it down (unless of course, you have really amazing brakes) 7. Ride during the day, riding in the night will be hard to practice, you may crash into

Holy cow, it worked for my 10 year old. 5 minute guarantee worked for this single mom. After the step one no helmet, I was skeptical, and then I honestly couldn’t believe it had worked. And so quickly. Nothing else worked for us. Amazing. 10/10 recommend. (I didn’t just push off and leave him to the wolves though; I did hold on for a little bit until he felt comfortable which was about 90 seconds) I think the fact he knew he could catch himself gave him the confidence he needed.

The past two weeks we moved the training wheels up so that he had to practice leaning and I told him to practice not letting the training wheels touch the ground. Saw this video. Took the training wheels off. Asked my son if he was ready. He said he was. Set the timer on my phone for five minutes. Did the leaning. Did the free drops. Took time to talk about what was happening with leaning and the weight of the bike and what balancing felt like. Then after 5 minutes I gave him a try. A couple false starts where he wobbled for ten feet and out his feet down. Talked about how he needed to get up to speed and keep peddling. He took off the third time. Boom! He rode all afternoon. Grinning ear to ear! Yes, he fell a couple times. He dusted himself off and went back at it. He was so happy and excited nothing would stop him from riding. Not like he didn’t have the issues all new riders have. He ran into a post. He ran into a bush. He ran into a tree. More times than that he was riding and doing well. What I am saying is yes, there were mistakes in his first afternoon riding. Minor issues though. He felt so successful. So yes, in about 7 minutes this method worked.

This seriously worked for you?

Yes, it worked, I was blown away. Tried the technique on my son, and it took less than 5 minutes. I don't normally leave comments, but had to in this case as I was amazed at how effective this was.

Watched this video with my daughter. We went out to the driveway and it took about 5 minutes for her to start riding the bike herself. Now she is riding and turning and really enjoying riding her bike. This video is awesome!!! Thank you!!!

This totally makes sense (in an educational psychology way). Teach them how to catch themselves and they won't worry about falling. And that's the entire reason kids get scared of riding. Brilliantly simple, really.

Totally agree! The method is brilliant!

Thank you so much! We were going nowhere with my 7yo son, and then out of the blue, we learned how to ride the bike today after watching your video, and also about 5 min of figuring out how balancing feels. And absolutely no injuries or scrapes! I prayed for a miracle and we found your video. God bless

This man is absolutely correct. We'd been trying to teach our grandson to ride a bike for over 6 months with very little progress. I watched this video at the park and immediately tried it and within less than 5 minutes he was riding. He's 7 and athletic with good balance, but still couldn't get the hang of it - this worked immediately. He was sooooo excited and proud of himself and after 10 minutes he was doing a fabulous job. That was a month ago and he's now a pro, riding standing up, turning easily, braking with no difficulty, etc. I recommend heartily! BTW, he is not arrogant at all Daniel W. - what are you talking about!!!!!!

I'll defend this guy. This method actually worked with my 4 year old daughter. I was sceptical but it was worth tó try. And trust me She didn't know how tó ride a bike.

Honestly i was having a similar problem, so i kind of mixed the old with the new. New: i practiced the stationary balancing for about 20 minutes. Then the old: (this is how i learned) i had him start to peddle as i gave him a good push in the center of his back. He was honestly riding for 40-50 feet in minutes. By the next day, i could just sit back and watch him ride. During his 40-50 feet rides, he could have kept going but he would get SO EXCITED he would stop pedaling and say "WOW did you see that dad, i was riding my bike"!! After several of those exciting moments for him i was about to talk him into not stopping and riding. Now we take family rides all the time. Dad life... there is NOTHING better!

I tried this with my son who was struggling to move off of training wheels and This method did work. He was able to ride by himself and look no different from the kid in the video on his first attempt after doing the leaning part. He quickly picked up turning and starting off by himself. I have a bad back so running next to my son and trying to balance him was painful and not productive. Thanks for posting this method of teaching.

Don't encourage a child to get on a bike without a helmet. All the bike has to do is tip over and the child not able to get their foot out fast enough and they smash the side of their head. That is enough to cause a serious brain injury. It's not worth it. Yes we rode all our lives without helmets, but it is only prudent to encourage children to ride with a helmet ALWAYS.

Only 15 percent of kids wear helmets and I am one of them
@SnowTiger453 жыл бұрын
@@alexsgamingchannel5554 I guess it just matters where people are and what their priorities are. In Canada, it's the Law. All bike riders must wear a helmet.

I cannot believe this! thank you so much because I've been struggling for months to get my children to ride who are in kindergarten and first grade and just in 20 minutes they are improving so much and can ride on their own! They get it in their minds because they're over the fear of falling and know what to do so now they can just focus on peddling. Thank you!
