Riding an adult tricycle is much different from riding a two wheel bicycle. The way riders need to adjust and shift their body weight while riding is very different. Balancing on an adult tricycle is easy on flat ground, but taking on slanted roadways or driveways can be tricky for new trike riders. It's important to lean against the slant to keep all 3 wheels firmly planted on the roadway or driveway. In the video Dustin demonstrates on three different e trikes how to keep the adult trike steering straight ahead. The other point to remember on an adult tricycle is you need to steer, leaning your body weight will not steer the tricycle. Many new adult trike riders expect when they lean their body the tricycle will turn, and it won't. Especially on a slanted roadway, you have to turn the handlebars of the tricycle to keep it going straight. In order to safely ride on a slanted roadway you need to shift your body weight towards the slope to keep all 3 wheels down on the ground and turn the handlebars in order to keep the trike going straight ahead. If you don't do both in combination the trike will start turning down the slope and their could be a risk of tipping. Driving an adult trike on a slanted roadway or driveway is not difficult but it takes some practice and getting used. Stick with it and you'll be riding your adult etrike or tricycle on slants without a problem.

Roads in my community are slanted a lot. I'm practicing a lot and getting a little more confident. I have the Daymak Florence and I love it.

Thank you. I did my test ride on a slope and crashed. I did not fall over because the three wheels gave me stability, but it scared and discouraged me. This was very helpful.

I suffered an SCI and now on rehab I was cleared to ride a trike. However where I am at, there is no guide on how to ride on a slant or some occupational training so I can go on and off and drive. No problem in flat road. Thanks for this but I need to learn more.

Rode my brand new Trike once a year ago, it's been sat in my garden gathering rust and growing weeds ever since , felt so strange plus I was recovering from a recent severe bike accident where I had my hip, pelvis, ribs , upper arm and shoulder smashed to pieces like a packet of crushed biscuits, maybe it was too soon but I still can't pluck up the courage or confidence to give it another try, sad really because it's an amazing Trike with all whistles and bells on it 😪
